Exactly who that will be remains unclear but Sin Bin can reveal that Cronulla's Shane Flanagan has been mentioned as a potential target. Flanagan, who began his coaching career with Parramatta's SG Ball team after a knee injury forced him into retirement while playing for the club until 1994, is contracted to Cronulla for another season.
There is also renewed speculation Brian Smith may return to the club he coached from 1997 to 2006 as a coaching director, while his brother Tony was named in a column by Mal Meninga last weekend as one of the candidates for the Raiders coaching job before the board decided to appoint Stuart.
Pretty sure it was Smith who didn't like Hayne, not the other way around.
Pou, he rated Hayne highly. He was just slow in blooding him to first grade, that's all.
I agree, i think he is a very good coach who has done a fantastic job at the sharks but you would have to be a little worried over the ASADA investigation. How do you blokes think things would work out if we signed Flanagan and then he ran into trouble re the ongoing ASADA investigation? I'm flabbergasted that we'd take such a risk....even if it's a minor one.

Which is why the NRL should show leadership and liaise with the authorities in order to avoid this situation.
