Enquirers have already been made, about 40 minutes ago.

Season Ticket / Membership renewal Brochures and information are supposed to hit the membership Mid-September if the Eels website is to be believed.

http://www.parraeels.com.au/default.aspx?s=seasontickets-overview-2009

But I have asked for the information and then we can start by trying to get as many LU members to purchase their memberships in that section, I don't know the status of the Brochures or the time it would take to Print them up.

In what section? :? We haven't been allocated one yet. I'd go as far to say that the club don't even know about our plans yet, unless you have information to the contrary.

Time is the essence, if it's not going ahead for 2010, then I want to be able to renew my current seat.

In the section appears to correspond with our requirements.

The club involvement will be nice Suity, don't get me wrong, but it is still us the fans that will have to get out and do this stuff, and considering how late in the membership renewals cycle we have left this run, I don't think there is going to be much in the way of advertising things like this from the club

I know Jodeci and I spoke about a section like this months ago, and he has raised things with the club, but I don't know if this was raised of if it was if the club have taken them on board and indeed acted on them.

BTW, too many rules regarding swearing and stuff will piss heaps of people off. the best thing about being at the footy is enjoying a drink with your mates. Once someone has had a couple, he could become really animated etc. Having restrictions on language and stuff kind of makes people want to move away from the group.

Just my thoughts though.

OK,

I just spoke to Lyn Wallace.

She re-iterated that time was a problem. Season ticket renewals have already been put into place which led me to believe that it may be too late.
On the other hand, she said that she will raise the issue with Paul Osborne, and she enhanced our cause by saying that Paul Likes to make things happen, and is very good at it.

I still hold out hope that we may be able to get this off the ground for next season, and I am awaiting a call to further discuss the issue, and put our requests to the relevant person(s).

We need strong support from Eels fans for this to be a success.

I can just see it on TV now, after getting beaten - "Parra fans are in the pits" with people laughing at it.

Maybe you could look at the "electric" side of things. Maybe - "Power-point", "Bolt Vault" (maybe too stormish) "Fuse Box"

I miss Nicky's "Somebody kill somebody" phrase from the old north hill days...oh and the one time when we seemed to have a mosh pit happening with the "Click goes the eels: tune after a win... :D

Ahhhh memories.. the few moments Silence as everyone around Nikki waited in awe of her breathtaking warcry .. And then hearing the Eels faithful cheer her as she fell to the ground with headspins caused by the amount of effort she put into it.

Beautiful Stuff.

:D:D:D:D

Hahaha.. Dont think it will be making a comeback either!! lol. Im sure it has had some lasting repercussions due to lack of oxygen!! But gee it used to work a treat. Many a time it would cause the opposition players to lose the ball. Probably just coincidence, but I like to think I had a hand in it.

It's another reason why we really need a relatively vacant area. It wouldn't be fair on the existing ST holders who come along with a few kids to have swearing and carrying on around them and banners in their view. The club may need to contact a few existing ST holders and explains the rough plan to them, and check whether they are happy to stay or find as good if not better seating for them.

It's also not a license for people to carry on like a bunch of idiots either, we want to be able to cater to all different types of supporters.

That's excellent Suity - If all else fails and it's too late maybe we can just experiment with away games for next year and maybe we could gather as many people as possible for 2011.

Even if it is too late to get something published in official materials, there is still the Eels website, and word of mouth.

As long as we can quickly assign a bay, the ball is rolling and we can book it from there!!. :)

Yep planet, and I think that may be the path we will have to follow

Agreed.

I think we should at least take a Bay in a lesser position to get the ball rolling.

Problem is, if it's a sh*t Bay, there may not be as many takers, and therefore, would be harder to promote in future.
Let's see what the club comes back with.
I'm also thinking that we might have to get a few people together for a meeting with someone from the club.
I'm happy to volunteer as one. We will need to be prepared though, so may need a pre-meeting meeting.

I'll probably get shot down in flames here.. But.. I dont see why we cant just aim for the away game get togethers for next year. See how that works as a group without interupting everyones home game routine. Then if all goes well, and with the backin of the club, make a huge push for the 2011 Parra Stadium Bay. With time we may even be able to do something like the Sharks have and be a sponsored group. With that in mind, maybe we should be called "The River" and get a Poker League sponsor on board

Certainly won't get shot down in flames Nikki. It's not in our mission statement.

But why delay it?
When you say, "without interrupting everyone's game day routine", what's the difference between doing next year, or the year after.

As I said, if this is to work, it needs FULL support from Eels fans.

In all honesty, and this is just my personal view, I have been burnt by the group thing a few times before. The in house bitching, the falling out with friends etc. I would not want to give up my current seat on a whim if you will. But thats just me lol.

Nikki dont base any of your work in here on the Cronulla Supporters Group! It will end up failing.

They offer no money to the club at all and they all have there own "clothing" to apparently support the Sharks.

No wonder the Sharks are going under.

I have received a reply from the club.

There is such a section already in the 2010 Brochure, and it will be promoted to lead the chants, and have large flags and banners. It is heavily emphasized and Promoted in that Brochure.

It does however appear to be in the Northern Terrace, for issues regarding flags, seating and lines of sight.

TBH, I think the ends would work best for the type of thing you guys are talking about.

Might not be the best view, but gives more flexibility in terms of what you can do without interferring with the views in other bays.

As I mentioned earlier, the traditional 'home end' works well in soccer as seen locally with Sydney FC and the green and gold army.
