Well not really, the fact he wasn’t named in the side was due to injury, so hence the side named reflects our biggest injury concern..

No need to revert to name calling when you’re in the wrong.. It weakens your argument..

Let me explain it to you muzby....Mary continues to name players who are injured (except for the players who he didn't name because...you know...they are injured). makes total sense.

Mann ruins the combinations of Hunt and Widdop when he comes on.
It allows Hunt and Widdop to go missing in the middle period of the game, not that either of them need much help going missing.
This is not a slight on Mann, he seems to think he needs to be the “everywhere” Mann (geddit) when he gets his limited opportunities.

Just play the poor kid in the centres where he should be.

Agree or the wing

It was pointed out during the Warriors game that JDB makes a great tackle a lot of the times and it takes him till the next play to get back to the line because his bloody hip doesn’t work.
This should have been addressed months ago.

I think his footwork and ball play would be wasted on the wing, give Lafai or Aitken the kick up the backside thier form deserves and replace one of them......or both.

To be fair I’ve never rated Lafai, Aitken I like, a lot, but he’s just down on form and confidence, a stint playing against the poor defence in ISP for a few weeks is just what I think he needs.

I think earlier in the year he played the role of the old school lock forward really well, an extra ball playing option in the middle.. he set up some good

But yes, agree it’s become a bit confused out there when he’s on..

Mann needs to be receiving the ball from Whiddop and Hunt, not instead of them..

So in case anyone feels like some bright shiny optimism - we’ve been flat and off the pace the last two weeks - and yet;
Vs roosters we ran for more then 230 metres than they concede on average, and made 5 line breaks, they concede just over 3 on average.
Vs warriors we ran for more than 400 metres over their average conceded, without our best forward, and again made 5 line breaks.
Statistically (Ha! You love it, don’t pretend you don’t.) those sort of numbers are very strongly correlated with winning games. If we Keep that up, we will win at least 3 of the last 4. Probably all 4. If...

I've thought for a while now that the whole line about Dragons being tired is bullshit.

I think the team just gives the appearance of being tired because they're not scoring tries like they were at the start of the season.

Look at that Roosters game - we were getting more than enough field position from our forwards. And getting more than enough opportunities for an offload.

I think it's the execution from our backline that lets us down on both sides of the field.

You could proberbly remove JDB and Graham from the first receiver role too.

Mann needs to be a left centre. He also needs some time their not moved after 40 minutes.

What a presumptuous and pompous git you really are Muzby.
You like to pull people up for the slightest things but never try to understand intent.
Then usually answer with the smart arse reply when someone has a go at you.

I predicted early on that Graham would become a ball hog and that is becoming more evident.
Some of it is due to other people not putting their hand up and him being there but the idea that he is the best option to get the ball inside the opposition 20 is ludicrous.
He would be better off boring it up the other players and telling them what their role really is rather than trying to do it himself.

MATCH PREVIEW

NRL preview: Eels v Dragons

Parramatta impressed in a comfortable win over Gold Coast last week, while St George Illawarra were disappointing in their defeat against the Warriors.

Both sides have plenty to play for, with the Eels desperately trying to avoid the wooden spoon and the Dragons looking to cement a spot inside the top four with the finals looming.

Key match-up: Gareth Widdop v Mitchell Moses. The Dragons pivot has arguably been his team's best player all year, while Moses produced one of his better 80-minute performances at ANZ Stadium against the Titans last start. Both players are fiercely competitive, and will be keen to outpoint their opposing five-eighth.

For the Eels to win: Nathan Brown has been a standout after successfully making the transition from prop to lock in recent seasons. He played 80 minutes against the Titans, with his bruising runs up the middle a highlight. His duel versus NSW lock Jack de Belin is worth the price the admission alone.

For the Dragons to win: Hooker Cameron McInnes needs to rediscover the form which had him in the frame for NSW Origin selection a few months ago. The Botany Rams junior could run riot when running at fatigued defenders.

Eels Stat Attack: Clint Gutherson has been one of his team's shining lights in what has been a testing campaign to date. He has made the fullback spot his own, scoring four tries. He also has five try assists to his name and 159 tackles.

Dragons Stat Attack: Widdop has been a point-scoring machine, amassing 191 so far this season. His goal-kicking accuracy is equally impressive, with a competition-high 87% in 2018. Fullback Matt Dufty has caught the eye with 15 line breaks.

And another thing: The teams met back in late June, with the Dragons coming from behind to win 20-18 in Wollongong. Eels players were shattered after the round 16 defeat and will look to square the ledger this weekend.

Eels: Despite a rare win last start, Brad Arthur has implemented a major reshuffle. Rookie Jaeman Salmon starts at five-eighth with Corey Norman taking over at fullback, moving Clint Gutherson to centre, Jarryd Hayne to wing and Bevan French out with Will Smith returning on the bench.

Dragons: Leeson Ah Mau starts at prop for Paul Vaughan (ankle, four weeks) with Blake Lawrie called up on the bench.

Head-to-head: Played 34; Eels 17 wins, Dragons 15 wins, 2 draws
Previous result: Dragons won 20-18 at WIN Stadium in round 16
Points per game: Eels 15.7; Dragons 23.6
Points conceded per game: Eels 21.9; Dragons 18.5
Televised: Live on Fox League

Petero Civoniceva's prediction: It's D-day for the Dragons. There's no doubt their form has slipped and their confidence must be down. The question is whether the Eels have enough clout to take advantage of that. Jarryd Hayne has his mojo back and he'll test the Dragons defence but it's time for the Red V to draw a line in the sand and produce the sort of form that wins semi-finals.
