Kaysa Pritchard was awesome. f**k he can hit.

Absolute warrior. Sets the standard for controlled aggression and commitment in the NYC - something that Pauli and Tanginoa could look at after today. Has the talent and attitude to make it in the NRL, hopefully his body can deal with the strain.

Best we can do now is hope tigers and Roosters drop one of next two games...

Roosters $1.16 faves play two teams desperate to win who are a chance to make the top 8 storm $5 and souths.

Tigers $1.37 have canberra and sharks (home) two easy games but Canberra are capable of a win.Lets hope we get an upset....

More than likely we will finish the year 6th thou.

Worth a try I reckon. Id hate him to move on.
How times have changed. We gone from M Keating , last year to Peats, IDG and Kaysa this year. Hooker overload.

Well he might still be big enough to play hooker in first grade. He'll give up a few offloads but his power and aggression are special.

Any Parra supporter who watches NYC games, how has young Tyrell F gone since being promoted after the Ball comp finished?

Looks a bit small, but he's got everything else you want from an edge player. Made his debut at centre actually.

Yeah, I noticed that - probably the selectors were working on the theory that there is not a great deal of difference between left and right centre and left & right backrower except one position in in defence and attack.

He is only 18, so size should come in the next year or two, hopefully not at the expense of speed & agile.

Saw he scored a try against Newcastle - first in NYC?

No, he scored on debut midway through the season if I recall correctly. Might have nabbed a couple of other meat pies as well.

He scored on debut.

Also, as far as looking a bit small, I'll point out that our NYC pack is at least as big as our first grade pack, so it's probably just a matter of perspective.

He's definitely not the biggest second-rower going around at 184cm and 97kg at the moment. He won't get much taller but he could still put on a fair bit of weight with more regular gym sessions. In our team when he came in centre was definitely the best position for him. He's fast and when he was chasing a winger against the Sharks a few weeks back he was running past ZDC who is a bit of a speedy half.

I don't think we've seen what Tyrell can do yet. When he was playing against kids his age he was throwing some good offloads and just outclassing those surrounding him. With a full pre-season of NYC training I can see him becoming a real skillful player in our big forward pack that could be considered "bash and barge" in NYC standards.

Dyldam Parramatta Eels second-rower Tepai Moeroa has this morning been named in the Holden Cup Team of the Year for 2014.

The honour caps off a break out year for 18-year-old Moeroa, who debuted in NRL in Round 18 against the New Zealand Warriors and has swiftly cemented a spot in the Eels' first-grade side.

While playing both NYC and NRL in 2014, Moeroa has been completing a Certificate IV in Youth Work at Mount Druitt TAFE. Back in 2013, the promising young footballer also represented the Australian Schoolboys in rugby union, balancing his high school studies, rugby union and athletics at Sydney's Newington College.

Eels Education and Welfare Officer Kevin Wise says Moeroa's achievements so far on the sporting and athletics fields are a testament to his dedication.

"He's always had that direction, that he wanted to play at an elite level, but also try and do his athletics as well," Wise said.

"It’s just unbelievable what he’s been able to do."

Congratulations to Tepai for a thoroughly deserved selection.

That said, it is disappointing that it looks like he is the only Eel to be picked after a fantastic year and there are certainly a few individuals that could consider themselves unlucky to miss out, in my opinion.

Good on him. And from a selfish point of view, these are excellent awards to win, coz they don't stop him playing for us, and they aren't likely to injure him:)
