The experiment is over for now.

Might just be because we are playing the team running third whereas yesterday we played a team down near the bottom.

I reckon if the NYC had lost yesterday they would have been very pissed off at sending a few players to NSW Cup.

I just read that the Roosters' recent SG Ball title was their third in seven years.

Why would they bother poaching under 18s players if junior development wasn't so important?

What's the salary cap on SG ball Pou??

NYC is quite low, and most of the really, really good 18 year olds go on to tier 2, or top 25 deals when they graduate from NYC. They're more likely to stay at the club they are currently at for the same $$ rather than change clubs.

Would it surprise anyone if we found out the Chooks spent more $$ on SG ball than anyone else?

I don't think there is a cap on your Junior Representatives. I wouldn't be surprised either, it's a sure way to get cheap back-up players and if you already have them in your system they are easier to be retained.

Ala Melbourne when they were getting an extra 8 million from the NRL. But but but we developed all these players.......

And then when someone tried to sign them to bring them back to Sydney (or Queensland), Melbourne offered sneaky second contracts to stay at the Storm.

Totally legit

*allegedly?

There isn't a legitimate Ball Cap that said the The NYC cap is 250k for the top 20 NYC "eligible" players. Given players are "eligible" to play NYC from the age of 17 this would cover year young and right age SG Ball players. Hence all players in ball would fall under the NYC cap if they were in the top 20 paid players aged 17-20 whether they play or not.

Disagree.

NYC eligible covers upper age range, not lower.

If they are not part of the NYC '20 players' (that is, they don't play in the NYC at all), then they do not count against the NYC cap.

It is completely rortable for lower end age players.

HOLDEN CUP: PAYMENTS FOR THE TOP 20
$250,000 - Basic payments for the Top 20 players.

What Holden Cup players can earn outside the salary cap:
$31,500 - School fees allowance per club.

Unlimited - Approved living away from home allowance (up to $8,190 per annum per Holden Cup qualified player outside the Top 25).

Unlimited - Tertiary education, approved traineeships, apprenticeship allowances, medical insurance costs, relocation/temporary accommodation costs.

Payments for Holden Cup players outside the top 20
$50,000 - Cap for all players outside of the Top 20 who compete in Holden Cup.

Please note: Players outside the Top 25 who do not compete in the NRL or Holden Cup, are NOT subject to the Salary Cap.
