I don't believe Matterson would have taken this so called stand if he were still in contract negotiations as it would have hurt his future earnings, and for this reason im saying matto is extremely selfish. The fallout was easily predictable and he is letting his teams and entire club down by not playing. Saying he is making a stand is bs. You make a stand by fighting the charge. No player will follow matto's so called stand. Clubs only win comps with players who put the team first.

I get why people are pissed, but as many have said he always has marched to the beat of his own drum. Same goes with the Manly pride jersey players I guess.

His stand benefited himself only, not his club, team mate or us fans. But yeah go Matto!!
