Can I ask a genuine question as I don’t know and perhaps the MA contract isn’t out of the ordinary, but how many of these players have a guaranteed top 30 roster spot in their contract (now or in the future)?

I'm about the same. Blackburn hasn't been on the field for me to give him a rating, he has a bit of the Loizou's in that he's off the field every 2-3 weeks for something different. I'd bump Penisini up, he was excellent in Ball before succumbing to injury and then was going well in Flegg before his HIA in reserves.

I'm interested in Twidle, AFAIK he came to us as a centre/half and this was his first year at fullback. With more fitness training I think he could end up being a solid fullback. Reads the game well and has the skills you want in a fullback but can drift out of games and I think that's a fitness problem more than an attitude problem. Seems to be a very good talker at the back too.

Injured his hand through the SG Ball season. Like Wiremu in first grade was getting better the longer he was forced to stay on the field.

So sg ball teams previous to this year had just normal training. This years squad, they had an elite program set up and a preseason for the majority doing NRL training then sent back to play the season in sg ball - after Sanders played 3/4 of last year at Flegg, was kept in SG ball. Set up perfectly for a great year. Now Flegg on the other hand had to cope with second rate coaching (yes I said it - that Brennan chopped and changed players and misused interchanges and created losses when they should have won. (Prior to the golden eggs arriving, it seemed to be forgotten that they had won 4 in a row) Kids then dropped completely from the squad to make way for this perfectly groomed sg ball squad.
Is it all just a coincidence it’s happened this year? No conspiracies here, it’s obvious!

There were plenty of players in that team who would have deserved an absolute icing contract! Plenty playing cup this year also and outplaying top30 waste of spacers. These boys were just not born a Marthur!!!

Mataele? Thoughts? I see a big unit who can be similar to manly Okopaltu. But seems a bit lazy. Needs to step his efforts up big time.

I thought his Defence was ok when he played in NSW cup.

It's not like our team is coached to be good at defence as well
