Without them this squad would be even worse, because we would be paying extra for those players.Should give everyone involved with the club contract options

I have no confidence in the club...
Hannay and Ryles do not inspire me at all.. May as well kept BA to be honest.
Reminds me of 2011 over again
TBH I think we're going better than when there was total accountability and every two years we had f**kfight democracy at election time.Five of the board members are there until they see fit to no longer be on the board. Those five appoint whoever they feel like appointing on any give day to those five positions should a position become vacant. It is only the two Leagues Club members that are there based on Leagues Club elections.
There is now ZERO accountability for this board...it's a do what you want free-for-all.
Well with 4 spots in our 30 still unfilled, we had a chance for an incoming coach to have some input on who we might want to bring in to the squad for the remainder of this year before the 30 June deadline. It's a chance to start shaping the squad for next year. We could be asking the new guy "Are you OK if we let Barlow go to Newcastle as they've expressed an interest?" for example. If the decision is made today compared to a few weeks from now, why would it be harder?
Getting the decision right is more important than making an uninformed, quick decision. This should NEVER be a quick process. And yes a month would be a quick decision IF the process is done right
Personally I think this system works well when you're going well, but if things turn to shit then there is no way to make a change.TBH I think we're going better than when there was total accountability and every two years we had f**kfight democracy at election time.
If the new coach doesn't work out, we'll be the Tigpies for the next decade.This. Anyone who thought this new board structure was going to fix our club are idiots. Anyone who voted for the 2 should hang there heads in shame.
I’ll argue that the issue is not with the board whose role is to ensure financial stability and keep the club growing. The most football decisions are made by the HOF and Head of recruitment , endorsed by the CEO and signed off by the chairman. Obviously inout from the coach, but there are 2/3 others who influence the overall position of the roster and club more.This. Whatever chance we have to turn things in a positive direction for 2025, we're diminishing that chance the longer we wait to appoint the new coach IMO

Who is in charge or hiring the chairman and CEO that sign off on the HOF ?I’ll argue that the issue is not with the board whose role is to ensure financial stability and keep the club growing. Agreed, but we are having our first losing season since the new management structure came into place. It doesn't mean things have turned to shit, at least not at club level. Blame the coach or players, but upper management is entitled to sack at least one coach before merkins can say they've failed to solve problems with the NRL team's results.Personally I think this system works well when you're going well, but if things turn to shit then there is no way to make a change.
BA will find another job before we appoint his replacement. This race is going on longer than the Grand National.

I don't have any confidence in the current decision makers at our club to make those calls right now... I'd be more comfortable if we appointed a head coach sooner than later to help validate those decisions. Someone who's accountable. Not MON for example....Source?!?!?
Nah but seriously, we can make as many roster moves as we like without a coach. One of the benefits of having responsibilities distributed across various decision makers is that we aren't dependent on one merkin doing everything.

We dont want to get rid of those player options. They are awesomeIf we sorted our coach we could of sat down and tried to move on some dead wood on 5yr contracts with POs and even thou we'd still have to chip in we could of taken a hit this year and not suffered so much for the following few.
Management have f**ked up and this will cost us an extra 12 -24 mths in the rebuild from being so slow to act.
Souths are already making signings
Win/win FFSWe dont want to get rid of those player options. They are awesome
