It’s one tough decision. Could all come down to the interview, which is dangerous. Matt Elliott for eg interviewed well but was a failure as a coach.

Ryles or Hannay seem the front runners. Madge might be close but does he even want it ornisnhe happy with being NSW coach?
There isn't anyone I deeply want. I kind of just happy witha change. I'd lean towards Hannay over Ryles for no real reason.

Rumour has it Bellamy had that job in Canberra as well taking over after Meninga quit in 2001 but Elliott got the nod with the power point.

Canberra haven't won a comp since that decision.

Seibold in Brisbane I think wowed the board with his PowerPoint and delivered them a wooden spoon.

Didn't Jim and Sean clearly state in their address last week that BA was part of the R&R committee? It seemed to be at odds with what the perception was about him not being involved in R&R which i would find extremely farcical if that was the case.
Maybe he wanted full autonomy which the board and CEO said no but wanted a committee as such to discuss, review and approve hirings and firings so to speak
They said BA had the final say on R & R.

The bald merkin on 360 made a good point about needing to be coaching - to prove you an coach being an assistant is a lot different.. Hannay & Ryles have done their apprenticeship as assistant coached both merkins needed to go coach a NSW cup or QLD cup side..

Hannay did coach the South Logan Magpies at a 40% winning percentage. before going onto be an assistant..

Probably the best thing Burgess did was leave Souths and go coach over in the UK.

Hannay has 30 games of FG coaching experience more then ryles with 2 different clubs.

I think that should give Hannay the edge over Ryles he has had that exposure at coaching a team even on a caretaker basis.

Has Ryles even coached a team before its alright sucking up to the players as an assistant.

For Hannay experience It's like a rookie player coming in filling in at FG as a player. Then going back to reggies and learning again before coming back up and cementing his spot in the top side.

Boyz as you can see, any voting poll must have the main candidates up there for those to choose from.
And according to Eels fans, NSW Blues coach Michael Maguire was their most wanted 2025 Parramatta Eels head coaching candidate.

Total votes 249

Good luck to all the candidates

Not sure that coming in and taking over when the current coach is sacked is much to go by he didn't get the job after that.. You need to show your coaching credentials by being a coach for 3 years at least.

How many assistant coached now have come in and been average..

It's the dealing with the media side of things each and every week pre and post game.

Morris was sacked by Cronulla in round 5.

So Hannay had close enough to a full season to run the show.

He would have had to drop players at some point and make some tough decisions. All part of learning you don't get as an assistant.

It wasn't a 4 week stint it was a 20 week stint.

As I said if your comparing Ryles and Hannay.

I feel that helps me sway towards Hannay and the fact Billy Slater doesn't suffer fools.

Hannay was one of the first people he appointed to the coaching staff for QLD alongside Thurston and Cam Smith.

If you compare the 2 yes Hannay gets the nod but I would rather neither as they are assistants and need to go out and coach a football side. Deal with building a side developing recruiting injuries ect..

Ryles coached a side with Wests in the Illawarra comp for 2 years. It's probably a bigger job then NSW cup (you have less support / more responsibility) and the standard is pretty good.

I would like Pou to be our coach, and actually be good at the job. That way we can talk him up here, and then he comes in to argue about how he is actually shit and needs to be sacked.
I would never say a coach needs to be sacked. In the absence of inside information I would say that results only tell part of the story and no coach is as great, or as shit, as most sports fans would have you believe.

I'm not having a go here, but I assume you mean MON is one of the 3 amigos. @emjaycee told us a couple of days ago that BA and MON where on the same line as each other in the organisational structure - why would MON have a say in the new coach?
Because MON would have to work with the new coach, his opinion would matter. Likewise if they were choosing a new head of football (or whatever MON’s title is), the coach’s opinion would be a factor.
