I'm unsure if and how you could prove it in court, but the courts do have an exceedingly dim view of the media, but that is jumping the gun. That said if the Munchwood mentions what the penalty will be tonight & it's the same as he said last week and tomorrow is proven correct, I'd really want to know where he & the rest of the Terrorgraph were getting their info from, because it smacks of pre-releasing info to get positive opinion.

I do have my own speculation over what has happened and how the NRL perceive it and want to deal with it. Whatever happens, be good to hear the full explanation

Not sure that will ever be released, we will probably only be told what they want us to hear.

Is it just a coincidence that they are going to announce their findings tomorrow, the day after the AGM?

It's not a coincidence at all.

Our punishment is that we will be dumb enough to put the emperor back in charge in a few hours. He'll start pissing up walls again and immediately sign the best available coach for next season

Savage punishment IMHO.

it might not be released to the public but you would think the nrl would release a report to the club detailing the process used to arrive at the punishment so we can't say they just pulled a random number out of their arse

He can't be voted back in tonight can he? A no Confidence motion would only trigger an election, right? yes it would remove the current board members aimed at the motion, but you don't instantly vote on a replacement there in the room, right?

So you mean privatisation won't get off the ground, or a motion to protect us from privatisation?

Still not clear on that.

I think the motion will get off the ground yep, but I seriously think we're light years away from privatisation and i think the current board have are using it to divert attention away to the real issues..but that's just me.

So you think they are tabling a motion to make it harder to privatise the club as a smokescreen? You think such a motion is going to distract anyone?

Or you are just so keen to paint the board in a bad light that anything they do is going have some form of ulterior motive?

I have a question for you, and I'd like your honest opinion.

You don't like the current board, we've pretty much established that, so I want to throw a hypothetical at you.

Let's say you go to the AGM tonight (I assume you would be) and DF calls for a No confidence motion against the current board, but hey, all is not lost, He also suggests that he and 6 of his buddies (all qualified of course) are willing to step in a take the reigns until the scheduled elections are to be held next year.

The way he words the motion means that a vote for one Idea is a vote for both, i.e. if you want rid of the board, you have to put DF and his mates in their place.

Do you vote yes?

I will be there tonight, my resolve for attending is to vote against anything that DF or his cronies put forward, the majority of issues surrounding the club seem to come from one source .

A despicable merkin who should just fornicate elsewhere

Pretty sure that can't happen, they were meant to put in paper work 3 weeks ago and they didn't bother. Maybe the leaker and his mates think the NRL will do their jobs for them??? Which means we could be about to get hit with a big stick which really worries me.

how many people that go these AGM's actually give a shit about the football side of things?

I Imagine El D, given what I assume the membership of the PLC is, that the percentage of the people at the meeting that care more about the football side than the inner workings of the PLC would be rather small.

But then, at times like these, when someone is trying to topple leadership, they usually try stacking the deck and getting as many people that are on their side to these types of things as possible.

I've seen it happen time and again in many sports.

I used to serve on the board of a Sporting body in NSW and once saw a guy bring in 35 people to an AGM that usually attracted a maximum of maybe 40 people at best. Needless to say, the guy beat the incumbent president by a long way, and during his term, did such a poor job, 90% of his supporters voted him out the following year.

We will be playing for no competition points this year, I think we should all prepare ourselves to be the butt of jokes and just cop all the shit that comes to us on the chin.

There is no way this ends ok for us imo.

I'm pretty sure you can put forward a motion from the floor during the meeting. It's a commonly used tactics in situations like these intended to sandbag the people you are trying to beat, not giving them notice to rally support against the motion.

What I'm really looking for here, is not to see if anyone is a DF supporter, but I want to see if those who dislike the board have a "anything to get rid of the current board" mentality.
