Fyi guys, just heard we are losing 12 wins. Not points. This will eat into next seasons wins if we dont get them this season. They are doing it this way so they can ensure the team continues to try hard and gives the supporters something to cheer about.

I would place zero stock in any rumour I hear about our salary cap situation, BUT....

if the NRL are planning on handing out a serous salary cap penalty, and if you are look at it from the perspective of the game in general, this would be the perfect way to impose it.

It's too much of a smart decision for it to come from one of the most inept organisations in the country!

2gb , you know who, suggested all the issues related to inflated invoices from suppliers and the balance being paid as TPAs. This is exactly what other successful clubs have been doing for years, I won't say who as that may be deleted

Suggested that the punishment will be realistically in the vicinity of 12 points which could be reduced if those who oppose the Emperor ( my thoughts) stand down, from both th football board and leagues club board with th NRL appointing an interim administration . Names mentioned were Sharp, Issa, Gerard and Serrao . With Anderson and Boulos also being forced out, with emails from DA being evidence of his inviolvement

Penalty can be reduced if those people stand down

Went on to say he had a call from a friend of a whistle blower, not rocket science I guess, detailing this

Said BA and the football office have distanced themselves from th admin by moving lock , stock and barrel to the sale yards, I have mentioned this previously

The shock jock couldn't be happier from the tone of his comments

It will be interesting to see what eventuates if there is an offer to reduce the penalty if the board stands down.

24 points??? f**k off. The dogs and the storm were basically over the cap in the year they got rissoled that is why the NRL killed their season. We are compliant for 2016. Don't let the Media bullshit you.

If they uncover a basket case of incompetence for previous years however we are under the cap this year, I can't see how rubbing us out of the comp for 2016 makes sense.

I'd say 4 points plus heads rolling at O'Connell Street is the best result for everyone PROVIDED that they can defer elections or do something that can stonewall the usual suspects from running amok yet again.

I don't believe that you could impose a penalty in regard to an amount of wins.

The most it will be is 4 points. That is the amount that was suspended before the season. Bit like breaking a good behaviour bond. The end.

I think we all need to be writing to the NRL

http://www.nrl.com/NRLHome/ContacttheNRL/tabid/10925/Default.aspx

Main points to plead:

1. be apologetic and saddened that our team cheated the cap in seasons past (and that we did so to come last!)
2. say you don't know what the current cap situation is, but point out that nothing in the news reports indicate we are over the cap for 2016
3. point out that every year the newspapers get excitable at Parramatta board election time.
4. ask that the NRL not judge the club based on speculative media reporting
5. gently indicate that we have been fined (and rightly so) for past indiscretions, and suggest that most of what we are reading in the papers seems to revolve around the past
6. ask what we (as leagues club members) can be doing? Does the NRL hold the view espoused by the papers that it is all on the board, and that if they go, we are in the clear?
7. gently ask for a response to point 6

The reason for points 6 and 7 is to see where the NRL are coming from - if they get back to you with no indication that sacking the board will do anything, then we're in the clear. If they say 'you know what, sack the board or lose 10 comp points', then maybe the papers were right...

So far this whole cap scandal thing seems to revolve around rehashing past indiscretions, and making out that we're guilty of more things because in the past things were done wrong (surely Deloittes found all of these in their audit?)

Unfortunately, the squeaky wheel gets the grease, so I strongly recommend you all write a letter to the NRL along the following lines: (don't send it in bullet point, put it in your own words, no need for an essay, short and sweet will work, the more they read the more they realize we are passionate fans who have a legitimate team this year, and the more likely they are not to whack us with a massive penalty)

You can contact them here:

Agree, provided that the allegation that we inflated IT, catering etc contracts with the club so that those suppliers paid players under TPAs, is unfounded.

If we have been caught doing this then we'll get the book thrown at us.

Yeah I can't see it being anything more on basis of the Terrorgraph "investigation". NRL will then leave it up to the club (and newspapers) as to what punishment the board will receive and the cycle would perpetuate.

If the NRL were really concerned about the governance of our club there'd be no penalty and they'd shower the board with praise and urge them to be re-elected. That'd f**k with the merkin rats

Where was this allegation? I know people have speculated on here that it may be the case, but I don't think I've actually heard an allegation?

Fyi guys, just heard we are losing 12 wins..

so we throw every game and our good players all leave and we never clear this 12 wins.

Then the NRL has just screwed the whole fan base.

Like I said before, we increase the cap for every other team next year or for 2 years for twice our breach.

So if we are over $300K, the others get $600k added to their cap and we don't.

It will mean we will lose some good players as we'll get out bid. e.g. Norman, Peats, Morgan

Then what happens to all those players who have inflated self-worth due to abnormally increased caps after 2 years?

Both Storm and Bulldogs were also forecast to be over the years following as well.
This is no way anywhere near as big as ethier of those clubs breaches, but we have been over the cap 4 of the past 5 seasons and been fined for each one but still breach regardless if it's just TPAs or not we need to be punished other than fines because in their minds we have a rich leagues club and will be happy to just keep paying fines instead of fixing the mess.
I just hope we only lose 4-6 pts not 12+, in fact if we lose more than 12 I would urge the club to that legal action.
Also if the other club who has rumoured to have breached has then it may be a bonus for us if they give us a massive penalty and them only a small one ( we all know the club and what it will do for to ratings in another state) it will stink to high heaven.
