Does anyone find it interesting that we have been accused of cheating the cap, which may include guaranteeing TPA.

Now if we were guaranteeing TPA or maybe making secret payments, then why has there been some many reports of Eels plays not getting paid TPA's negotiated with them? Surely we would have paid them as per the allegations made against us ?

For a club that has cheated there seems to be a lot of players left out of pocket!

This has now turned to into a negotiation between parramatta and the NRL. I imagine there will be an eleventh hour settlement to stop it going to court where things like illegally recorded board meetings become inadmissible as evidence.

I know everyone is frothing at the mouth about the GO5 but they aren't just battling for their reputations. If this was all 100% fact, they would have stood down immediately.

Th campaign to remove the board started in the media a long time ago. It has been dedicated and unscrupulous from the beginning with lots of rumours, innuendo and imagination. Its momentum has grown through this season culminating with the NRLs unprecedented decision to deregister several members of it.

What a wonderful stroke of luck for the antagonists...

This is all far from over.

As far as I am aware everyone in the room knew the meetings were being recorded, so it will be fine to be used as evidence in that regard. its the incompetent fools that left the recording on the computer that's more of an issue.

But realistically, what is on the tape that would be of any true evidence?

Only a massive tard would say something incriminating if they 'knew' they were being recorded.

Recording any meeting that is not open to the public is dumb.

There are reasons meetings are held behind close doors.

They don't want this to drag on, nor the evidence be tested in the courts.

Going by what we actually do know, they want us to respond within five days, five personal to step down and get cap compliant in 8/9 days.

I think you may be right. I'm also sure there requests are near impossible. Anybody questioning why the board hasn't seeked an injunction re our points, I'm sure this injunction could come at any time???????

A question for you baz or 84 or anyone. What happens if the eels seek an injunction at say round 23/24/25. Do the eels have the power to seize the semi finals while the injunction occurs???!?

The published example of Seward's correspondence and actions when Mossop's deal didn't come through seems like evidence we did wriongfully pay "guaranted" TPAs. And there were the mysterious Hayne payments... plus several other players (including Semi) have been the subject of articles about being left out of pocket by TPA.

This wasn't the whole Board's fault, and likely wasn't discussed at a full meeting. But for the NRL to name 3 specific Board members and not the rest... you can safely assume that there is some evidence there. Rather than focus on a court case, we simply need the four remining directors to start to drive our club away from what has gone before, in cooperation with the NRL - that's the key to getting us competing for points again this season, and not being torn apart for next season.

The leaker obvioulsy felt wronged. I wonder if he is now comfortable with the result of his handy work?

And while on this, why were Seward an Irvine sacked? If they were part of the systematic corrupt system would it not have been best to keep them in the family?
I also dont understand our board continually stating they were cooperating to which Greenburg states categorically that they wernt. Dumb or not, matters such as these dont make sense.
And why was BA locked away with Shoey working through Salary Cap issues yesterday? Is this a result of Shoey not finding said allegations? So many unknowns but here is your penalty guys. Do whats right. Bend over and take it like a man.

Exactly. So much does not make sense.

Im not sure Normy and Semi are as valuable as they seem - maybe in eels fans blue and gold eyes.... semi can barely string a sentence together

What will all these companies be getting in return? .... what is the money value on it? ... what will they have to do in return for that money?
How many players are??? But other clubs have no trouble doing it, sure I doubt all clubs and TPA's are legal. But most clubs aren't run by incompetent fools who would be out of their depth in a wading pool.

Were the other board members not at the meeting?

Did they not ratify the minutes at the next board meeting?

The penalty is very specific. The allegations and evidence are not. Do you think it is acceptable to just go on Greenberg's say-so?

Probably because BA and Schubert are the only ones left with any clue about how the salary cap functions, and the only ones left that can be trusted? They must believe it's possible for us to get under the cap by next Friday (Watmough situation pendin, otherwise these two wouldn't be bothering.

The NRL gave us the all-clear for the cap in February, so Schubert did his original job well. But what he didn't know was that the NRL would discover evidence our TPAs were guaranteed by the club and/or not organised sufficiently at arms length... and hence added to our cap (for the past three years) by this investigation. Now he (and BA) have another job to do by Friday week, and the named 5 now need to "stand down" from roles (and court cases) while we prepare to play for points again, and then wait for the remainder of this play out.

We wont hear anything about what their plan is until they execute it. They won't be using the media because we already know what they want.

If nothing comes out of the club prior to them going back to court we can also confirm that all of the 'insider' leaks weren't coming from inside parra HQ as well.

To get under the cap could we extend say norman and Peats contract allowing us to alter the amount for this year? I know you can't just re-negotiatiate an existing contract but you can do it if you extend a contract
