It's a sackable offence, breach of contract.
Do you think that would go over better with the playing group than trying to move Peats on? Sure it works out better for us, but a shitload worse for Junior and everyone else will see it as us just being opportunistic merkins

I reckon if letting junior out would put us under the cap he would have been the one pushed out. However as his contract is only approx $180k with 6 months already paid ($90k)!and another $40k required for a new top 25 player, it only saves us only aprox $60k. Thus it's a waste of effort to ask him to look at leaving.

Let's not forget Watmough hasn't even retired yet.

Looking more and more likely we won't be under the cap on Friday.

We're gonna look like idiots either way, if we do have to shed a player which seems to be the case it's gonna upset the playing group regardless, we are stuck between a rock and hard place. This doesn't end well for me, sadly.

And his missus was on the news last night saying that no one is telling then anything and he feels like he is being pushed into retirement...

Not re- electing these morons when the alarm bells were ringing.
Then you're saying there is either a problem with the voting process, a lack of better candidates or the membership aren't voting with the proper motives? Which one/s and how do you fix them?

Better call a waambulance. He's getting a sweet golden hand shake compared to past players.

Guys just regarding the salary cap drama just posted a thread about Jrn.He played union on the weekend and is more then likely going to be deregistered.Maybe peats stays.

Does a deregister mean his money is taken out of the cap?

Without having to train & play or rehabilitate if injured. Sounds like a golden handshake to me not that he doesn't deserve it

What if he wanted to play on and retire on his own terms? We signed him on the ridiculous contract.

The NRL has said they are not taking action against Jnr, so there is no de-registration. They said it's a club matter to deal with
