Now I want the club to come out and state their case. Without fear of the NRL or the Papers or Scott Sewards confidentiality agreement, Then we can more on.

Exactly. That is what should happen, the penalty is done and dusted, let us know why the GO5 were happy to challenge and cost the club a decent amount of cash and the fans months of pain

So the NRL basically said had we been honest we would of faced a lesser penalty???

How did that help the Warriors? When they self reported they were over the cap they copped a 4 point deduction and 500k fine. Yet the Broncos played dumb about the missing 300k and copped a sweet f**k all penalty.

#levelplayingfield
No level playing field where the Broncos, Roosters and Dogs are concerned with Greenberg.

Was reacting to the implied reason for the financial penalty Levied for the full Amount and none suspended

Eagleston's ticket comprises former Eels skipper Ray Price, businessman Ian Sekuloski and former Parramatta Lord Mayor Paul Barber. Under that proposal, two board spots will be appointed by the NRL as independent directors, while another will be chosen by the membership.

Noney's proposal would see the lawyer installed alongside Martin Zaiter, John Hugh, Rony Wardan and David Ciantar. Losco has taken a different approach, proposing to overthrow all current directors save for Geoff Gerard, who would assist in forming a committee to identify replacements based on merit. That process would include a recruitment firm and Clubs NSW to select candidates to run through until at least the next election.

Thanks, but no thanks. That was the response from the Parramatta Eels, who knocked back an offer from NRL boss Todd Greenberg to deliver the bad news of their salary cap sanctions face-to-face.

Greenberg phoned Eels coach Brad Arthur asking to once again front the players to deliver the confirmation of what is likely a season-ending 12-point penalty, however Arthur opted against another meeting with the chief executive who spoke to them in person when the provisional findings were announced.

Fairfax Media understands the club was not interested in a meeting with Greenberg, viewing a potential second stop-off as a publicity stunt that would have done little to ease their frustrations.

While Greenberg believed the players were entitled to a face-to-face explanation, the reality of the salary cap saga has left a sour taste in the mouths of the players who would be sitting inside the top four had they not been stripped of 12 points for the misdemeanours of the club's hierarchy.

I just want it all over with, appealing the decision will just drag this crap on longer.

In my opinion, any appeal we make will fail. The NRL are pretty set on what they want the penalty to be, so it will stand no matter what we do.

And trying to bring down Seward with us accomplishes nothing. It doesn't help us one single bit, so it's useless. Hell, even if we uncovered some form of agreement between Greenburg and Seward that was a little "matesy", It again doesn't have any bearing on our punishment, that will stand no matter what.

So, what's the point of appealing? We're not going to get a reduction in anything, we'll end up in the same position we are now, but we will have pissed off the NRL even more.

We cheated, we got busted, now we need to take our lumps and get back to footy. Full stop.

In the overall scheme of things the penalty was light, we are still a slim chance to make the finals, other teams in the last had thier seasons ended then and there.
The fact that when the last board came in instead of self reporting they tried to find ways to cheat even more based on the info, if they self reported then and there this would have been over with a few years ago and the penalty done and dusted. I'm sure the penalty was what it was because we didn't report it and tried to hide it.

I tell you what: if toddy was going to order the deaths of 100,000 greyhounds, he would meet them personally to tell them (shortly after giving Ray Hadley the exclusive interview that these dogs had to die, and shortly before giving an exclusive telegraph interview about what a bad day he'd had).

PARRAMATTA are 12 competition points and $1 million lighter but their pain may not be over with the Eels’ gang of five members seriously considering appealing their deregistration.
