There was nothing wrong with his record - it was very very average. What got him sacked was the lack of progress behind the scenes.

A coach with a reasonably long history of Super League championships and NRL grand finals behind him is not good enough!
You say "Clearly it doesn't take as long to prove you can't do it as it does to prove you can". In contrast to Daniel Anderson's long trail of success over an 11 year period, where does this leave Kearney, a coach with less than a 22% win record (something like 7 wins out of 32 games) since he started coaching the Eels last year?
is there any reason why he's not coaching another NRL club??...surely he would be at one by now if he was that good..
Across 11 years, why would a successful coach with a string of certified top grade achievements both in Super League & NRL behind him seek a contract extension? Do you think he was pissing in our pockets or just looking for a healthy retirement superfund? Since all the 3P shit started, here is a coach who has kept silent about all the goings on, minded his own business and has not back stabbed anyone nor said anything nasty about his favourite club of all, his childhood club.
We're not talking about their current record; we're talking about preparing the club for long-term success - something we've not had since the 80s.
And '97-'02 doesn't count because we didn't win a premiership. That period was nothing but sustained, long-term disappointment.
Kearney's only been here for 18 months and our winning run could start this weekend. Either way the future looks bright. Just like it did in '86, '01, '05 and '09.
Have some faith. You don't really have any other choice you whiny merkin.
You don't know he didn't have a plan... It was mentioned on here from someone who had 'insider' contacts and somehow that has become gospel. DA had his version of the 'Academy', it just was't called that it was called the High Performance Unit or something along those lines. The thing with SK is we get this 'academy' talk like it's something groundbreaking he's come up with when it's something we've always had and something every club has in some shape or form.
So you have all the inside knowledge about Daniel Anderson?
Were you there?
I reckon he definitely had a plan. He was a first grade coach for f**k's sake. He's no more a f**king idiot than Kearney - these guys have been through the coaching ranks at multiple clubs and despite their lack of success neither of them deserves to have their knowledge questioned by the f**kwits on this board.
Anderson was sacked for interpersonal issues. If Kearney gets the arse it will be for the same reason.
Yep, now you are putting Anderson and Kearney on to a level playing field (same shit basket case). This smearing/right off appears to be reverse psychology Poo Poo. Because shit is shit there is no need to turn back - all is shit. Instead, lets look/move forward to where there is no shit. Let's forget about all the nasty sinister wrong doings perpetrated against Daniel Anderson and ALL Parramatta Eels fans by board members (and sponsor), the same board members (and sponsor) who are still in positions of power today looking/moving forward to where there is no shit. How convenient Poo Poo.I reckon he definitely had a plan. He was a first grade coach for f**k's sake. He's no more a f**king idiot than Kearney - these guys have been through the coaching ranks at multiple clubs and despite their lack of success neither of them deserves to have their knowledge questioned by the f**kwits on this board.
How many of them brought Peter Nolan on board to recruit into the academy?
I know as much as you do: that he was sacked by his employers and hasn't been employed in that role by any other club.
Given the board wanted a good coach, but didn't want him, and that other clubs have since needed a first grade coach, but for some reason he hasn't been picked up by any of them, the balance of probability says he's probably not as good a coach as you think he is.
That's not to say he's not an extremely smart coach; to end up coaching first grade despite never having played at that level is an incredible effort, and he can only have lasted as long as he did on his rugby league and managerial knowledge.
But in a world of globalised communications, knowledge is easy to get. Far more important is the ability to influence people, and I believe in the end that Anderson was found lacking in that area.
Just my opinion, but I am very intelligent and unlike you I try to be impartial. I'm one of the few people here to publicly admit I've been wrong, and I'm prepared to admit it in the future.
But mostly I avoid making definitive statements so I don't have to go through all that.
Were you there?
Do you have the evidence?
I forgot Peter Nolan was the second coming of Jesus. Let's see what results he gets with his junior recruiting before heaping praise on him.
But this does not change the fact that you were not there and have no idea at all as to what was really going on back then. It's just your opinion Poo Poo. You would be lying and committing fraud if you tried to impersonate Daniel Anderson, acting as if your thoughts, ideas, opinions, etc, are Daniel Anderson's. Are you psychic Poo Poo? Do you like to practise black magic as in remote viewing, remote projection and remote control? Do you enjoy acting as an impostor of Daniel Anderson, remotely viewing the influence and control over as many people as possible, while seducing them with your projection/performance/act of Daniel Anderson, giving them the impression they are Daniel Anderson's thoughts, feelings, intentions, acts, etc?
He was either sacked for interpersonal issues or lack of knowledge. I've just demonstrated why it couldn't have been lack of knowledge; deduction tells us the rest.
But if you've got any evidence for why your bullshit conspiracy theory is more likely than the above, either put up or shut up.
I'm not saying I was there you f**king idiot; I'm talking about what is most likely - by using the facts we know, and the powers of logic.
Your postulate - that Anderson was sacked because he was hired by the previous board - is so unlikely as to be a conspiracy theory. It's also so f**king petty that for you to believe it says a lot about how your mind works.
This belief, coupled with your rabid yes-man posts whenever you agree with another poster, shows that you are an emotionally immature, disturbed individual.
And you are the last person who should be asking other people to back up their opinions.
Clearly it doesn't take as long to prove you can't do it as it does to prove you can.
If Anderson was any good the club would have kept him. Anything else is a bullshit conspiracy theory.
Don't believe everything you read on Casper's website.
I seem to recall that at the time part of DA's problem was that he hadn't put forward any plans for the future.
I don't think that DA's sacking was right but I do think that some people are building him up to be a wonder coach when he was struggling as much as Kearney yet, unlike Kearney, he had no plans in place for the club's future.
I think you`re fairly right. But Anderson did have a track record of getting into NRL grand finals (two) and winning premierships in England.
