Meditation my be an option, but it's good to see the club back up Tahu's stance 100% I'll be happy either way and it's not like Joey has been going gangbusters with our halves anyway.

Let's hire Sterlo to replace him as our halves coach.

Sterlo was a better player than Johns too - just didn't have the raving Newcastle parochialism behind him...

Joey clearly doesn't learn much, that's all. And the problem being he never loses his jobs after these type of things, so I'd much rather kids learn that inappropriate behaviour results in consequences, rather than taking a chance that Joey might just learn something from it.

Thinking Joey will learn from his mistakes = ](*,)

As I said, if he keeps the job, so be it, but I'll be happy whichever way the club goes.

Junkie? Do you know the meaning of junkie?

Yeah it means he likes to collect junk.

Dont speak to me like i'm illiterate. He came out and said it himself.

Just quoted his words. The guy has flirted with the laws all his career. My comment is justified. speak to people in the game & they will tell you the same thing

p.s i forgot to add former alcoholic as well

Club needs to come out and say we are 100% against racism But also instead of sacking Johns we want to help resolve the racism issues not just with Johns and Tahu, But with everyone..

They need to come out and be proactive... Look like they are doing something not just sacking the bloke..

The problem is with johns that he has had enough chances.

I blame the games administration. If they had confronted him & his problems when they first came to light years ago he would have learnt & grown from back then. Because they wanted to protect the image of the game they turned a blind eye & now a uglier monster has come along to bit them on the ass.

Problem always start at the top. You have strong leadership you dont get these problem so regurlary. Its time for the nrl to be torn apart & start with a whole new independent commission.

The fact management tried to cover this up tells you this problem will happen again. You can only sweep so much under the carpet before you need to replace the floor

When did he ever say he was a junkie? He admitted he took recreational drugs a fair bit during his playing career but that's a big step down from being a 'junkie'.

Shame it's come to this. I'd have thought mediation would be the best solution too. Johns is an idiot, but I feel sorry for him in a way because the criticism of him is way over the top. If it were a player who'd said that as a sledge on the field, they'd cop a week's suspension and a fine at the most then all would be forgotten about.

it all comes down to timana if he thinks he can still work out a resolution with johns then fair enough if not then the clubs hand has been forced hasnt it

I've been sprouting the "mediation" line since the weekend.
One thing I won't do though, and can't do, is feel sorry for Johns. He was a first rate footballer......one of the best. He's also a first rate dill. Dill's need to be educated.
Listening to talk back radio today, there are plenty of them out there.
Thank god there is someone like Tim Webster who can play card of reason.

I don't see it that way.

Firstly, Johns' job is to work specifically with the halves. His coaching role at Parramatta would have very little to do with Tahu.

Secondly, as a professional Tahu has to think about what's best for the club overall in regards to this and at least make a serious attempt at mediation if the club asks him too. He seems a pretty decent and honest bloke so i'm sure he would.

i would like to think he would come to some compromise too but its his choice

People think mediation is easy.

It can be quite confronting. Sitting a person down and making them see up close and personal the consequences of their actions.

And, it doesnt have to be mutually exclusive from a sacking. A sacking could still be the end result of any mediation process

Bottom line is both Tahu and Johns should meet and come to some resolution.

Tahu has made his stance and good on him. Awesome!! But it's the way he goes about it from now that will gain him Even greater respect. Johns is hurting and obviously very sorry so you don't kick someone when they are down. You help them to learn about the issue. It's all in Tahu's hands really, there's no more need for Johns to be humiliated more than this. He would have woken up to himself by now I'm sure.

I hope they can work it out....
