Oh, geez, Suity, I`m not going to read all your posts. I know where you`re coming from. I just think that Johns has been untouchable for too long.

I think he's a dickhead as well.
But we can gain more from this to make him a part of the solution, not ostrasize him.

I agree, sack him and look for a specialist halves coach not just a consultant that works once a fortnight. These guys are young and need someone in 2-3 times a week, someone like Fittler, Taylor or even Matty Johns (who has done it sucessfully at melbourne).

My guess is that an announcement will be made shortly along the lines that A. Johns has resigned his position at Parramatta to allow him time to reassess his involvement at a senior level and to undertake development and awareness programs throughout the school system ............ yada yada yada.

And he`ll also say sorry again and make reference to the fact that he wants to 'become a better person'.

That has nothing to do with the racial issue.
What a dumb comment, after everything that has been said on here this afternoon - both for and against Johns.

That's highly possible. But look at the awareness this issue has brought to the fore already.
It has been massive, and if Johns learns nothing from this, I dare suggest many others have.
That in itself, has been a success for Tahu.
Keep one eye shut mate, but please don't close both.

That's the argument though. Have we seen any results? Our 5th tackle options are at best, poor. Generally, our kicking game is poor. Our dummy half and passing game is poor.
Seriously, has anyone seen any remarkable improvement in these aspects of our game that we would have expected to improve?
I haven't.

its deadset impossible to know .... its not something you can quantify ... perhaps our players are poor? - perhaps joey is poor at teaching? - perhaps things don't change overnight .... its impossible to know

Maybe because it's Andrew Johns and he doesn't seem to ever have to face any consequences professionally?

The guys had enough chances. I don't mind whether they keep him or not, but if they choose to chop him without mediation, he can suck it up IMO.
Agreed this guy has gotten away with bloody murder over the years, u would think something must stick at some point, and just quietly havent seen any massive improvements in halves since his arrival.

True. But Johns is really just hired to improve the little things and coach the halves about their techniques and such, give them a few pointers etc and teach them those little things that made him a great halfback. He's not there to tell them what to do on the 5th tackle or what to do tactically, that comes down to DA's game plans, and the players instincts and execution.

If that's the case, I hope we are paying him bugger all.
John's was or is the best player to have played the game. I would hope that for his wages, we are extracting every single little bit of his knowledge and passing it onto our kids/players/....even management.
If not, it's a waste of money.

You don't employ people like Halligan to get second rate goal kicking advice.
You hire the best, you expect the best.
It's the same with all hired coaches.

I doubt we'd be paying him much at all. All he does is do an hour or two session solely with the halves every couple of weeks or so. He has a similar arrangement with several other clubs.

Mediation would be good but it would surely now need to involve not only Johns and T but the whole team. This mediation would then have to result in a unanimous decision to support Johns for it to work. Sadly I can see this, however it pans out, polarising our players with some supporting T and others standing by Johns. Even if Johns and T resolved their differences there is sure to be those still not happy with Johns staying. The only solution then is to take the stand that this is unacceptable from someone employed by the club and simply sack him. If you can get someone to mediate this situation from here and keep everyone happy please send them over to the UN to solve world hunger and get them to talk to Israel and Palestine while they are at it. What's done is done, there are consequences and Johns has to go.

Joey should take a break from the game for a couple years and then come back and he could be the new "golden boy" ala matty

No. My first choice of action would be to mediate between the two parties as I have stated clearly in this situation, and if they were representatives of my business, I'd make it very clear that that sort of opinion is not only unwarranted, but not tolerated. I have done so in the past already. If it continued, of course I would consider termination.

And yes, no one knows all the facts. Very few around here have suggested otherwise, so I don't know why that comment is relevant.

Such a typical go on the attack post from you mate. Calm down, some of us can have an opinion of sitting pretty much on the fence, just because we don't all instantly salute to the mediation plan doesn't make you wrong.

Even a year would suffice but that's probably a great idea.
Problem is he probably has financial committements.
Can't see it happeneing.
