Yeah Keating was good. He plays well above his weight, I think he will have a great future in the NRL, hopefully with us!

Yep..No whinging about the golden child, just a comparison with his form and the form of Trent on Saturday night. The key words being "to me at least". I haven't ASKED you to agree with me, but in your heart, you probably would.....
As Joe Friday would say "Just the facts ma'am, just the facts"....

Can I ask you a question pete, In all seriousness, Did you see Tim Smith play Jersey Flegg?

On Tim Mannah, well is is going to be 20 next year. So he has a few more years to go as a forward. He will spend his time between Wenty as the NRL side, but I have no doubt he will be a very good NRL prop in the future.

I believe he is taller than Fui if that is any help.

I was actually going to ask Pete the same question and to be honest with you, Tim was one of the best Jersey Flegg halves I'be ever seen at the club and yes better than Trent...

does that mean we will miss Hodko???...not sure only time will tell.

Oh no doubt that the side has missed Hodgko all year. They looked very composed and together on Saturday night, well at least from the replay they did. Much better then I have seen them in a while.

Don't get me wrong, I think Dan Mortimer is a good player, he is a 5/8th though and has been playing out of position to my mind.

Albert Kelly is again a freak, but it was only once he got to NYC that I saw him pass the ball. Albert will get another go at SG Ball next year as well.

I can't wait to see Tim Auremi on the field for NYC, He will be a great ball playing Centre or 2nd Rower in a few years time.

But lets put this out there, who of this squad is eligible to play NYC Next year?

Mark you could probably add some signings to that squad..

Royce Hura - backrow/prop
Josh murray - halfback
Pat O'Hanlon - backrow

all could be playing NYC next season.

also Mark, you can probably add Jay Hemming and Mase Lalau-Togagae as 2 other players that will be too old for flegg next season, I believe both are still unsigned.

Mase would be a concern.

No I must admit I didn't...Did he tackle in those days and run the ball?
If so when did he - and what caused him to - lose that ability.
Did his head size outgrow his body?
Anyway, what the original statement made by me was this...I was impressed with the Eels No 7, and he showed more to me in that game than what GC showed in 3 1//2 seasons.
Take it or leave it. It is only an opinion....

Oh I well understand what you are saying, but more wondering what your Basis for comparison is. Your comparing 3 1/2 years in NRL with 1 game in the NYC, which is as one of the NYC players told me this year, no matter how good the NYC is it is still a jersey flegg competition.

Maybe if you had seen the "GC" as you called him in Flegg, you would have a different opinion of him.

Give Pete a break - I doubt he can help it. Being what he is means he has diminished capacity.
I recon from the SG ball side definates are Mitchell Johnson (who is a hot head to the extreme but has the size for irst grade), Galati, Auremi, Nutira, Kelly (will go straight into Toyota Cup), Graham, T.K Amosa, Ellis James.
I recon Baiteri will be captain.

Possibly.... Who knows? I can only judge him on what I saw him produce..he must have slipped plenty if he was that good in Jersey Flegg to what he produced in 2006/2007.

I just watched the game v Penrith myself. Some of my observations were:

Hodkinson will be a loss. He has a great kicking game, a great build for a 7 and is miles ahead of Daniel Mortimer. In my view he looks and plays very similar to Brett Finch. When you consider that Finch recently signed a 3 year deal you cannot blame the kid for wanting to go.

Nathan Gardener had a good game, is a little short for a traditonal fullback but looks like a future NRL winger. He already is bigger then Luke Burt.

Baumann, Tim Robinson and Tim Mannah will end up playing over 150 plus NRL games. Tim Robinson and Mannah have one vital ingredient that we have been lacking. Size. They were relentless, tough, with plenty of go forward. I can now understand why they let J. Mannah go. It would have been a choice between he or Tim Robinson and Robbo mark 2 is a player with plenty of endurance and is also on face value a better defender then J. Mannah. Marty Lewis is also a very good player however will possibly look for other opportunities later on when you consider that we have Mateo as our long term lock.

Kris Keating showed them who was boss. He showed the boys that he had recent NRL experience and it was there for all to see. Well done Krimpy!! I am so glad we have you for another couple of seasons.

The last thing that I observed which impressed me most was Anthony Mitchell. What a class player!!!!. He is so nippy and creative from hooker. Once he matures and gains a little more size he will be the best hooker that we have produced in a long long time.
