just to clarify we didn't actually win the premiership the first year lang was here, as I recall we lost nine on the trot to start the season.

That's correct - it was a horror start to 2002, and really was no better than 2001 (the wooden spoon year - only 7 wins each in both seasons)... actually, the Bulldogs salary cap drama rather inflated the perfromance, finishing third last.

Which made 2003 all the more remarkable.

Look, I think Penrith will not be rated by many in 2007, and may be seen as potential wooden spooners by some punters. And if that's what they want to believe, I don't care.

As I have said before, we may not make the 8, but we could give it a shake.

I love youse all!

The Panther Boot Camp.

At camp, Priddo better not ask for another bowl of porridge at breakfast! You know, he had such a fine season last year, I would have exempted him from attending.

And Joely will be scared at wot Matty is going to do since he threw him into the Penrith lake! I expect some rubber spiders in the sleeping bags!

Poor old Frank was hoping he would have missed boot camp! One minute he's in porshe cruising surfers, next minute he's jogging 10km with a 95 kilo backpack full of Leary's socks! He still has his sun-tan.

Its up to softly-spoken Tony to lead the boys. He will impress. This will make him.

And no wondering off at night for the 10km march to the Bush Inn for a few sneaky lagers lads.

This is not about finding yourselves, its about learning what will happen if you lose games.

The panther is licking her paws in anticpation of things to come!

Note to self: If the hard-line doesnt work, the boys will need a big cuddle.

Gee Dave has been quiet since his last post which I'm a bit confused about....he keeps telling us he supports the Panthers then posts dribble like that, which can be insulting to some of the players....:?

Well i understand what use are all saying but i have to defend dave as well.

Everything all of us say is not exactly nuterual is it we dont want people saying stuff about our team, or about our favourite players.

For example we could go to a game wesser has a shocker we say it, then a through and through wesser fan will not be happy and will argue the point with us, and try and blame the loss on another player.

Dave i know to be a some what panther fan after numerous discussions with him though he has no problem expressing his feelings and thoughts about things.

This is what the site is for isnt it to express what we feel about things????

Just because we do not agree or do agree but dont want a bunny fan saying it doesnt matter, i know my comment about ate's wasnt well recieved but its my thoughts.

Give dave a break without his input we wouldnt be having this discussion which in some degree is important.

He may be a bunny fan but it all comes back to a comment a while back about home truths and dave has indeed pointed out a few things about the club that we may or may not like but thats life.

In closing id like to state that.

a) i may or may not agree with what dave says but respect the bloke and enjoy reading what he has to say about his views on the club.

b) caged and choc im aware we didnt win a premiership in the 1st yr with langy in fact we did no better then the previous season in many respects however it was classed as a rebuilding yr which to me meant not many good results but would put us in good stead ofr the next.

And that in my opinion is what we are looking at this coming season.

Sorry can't agree with you...if a player has an off day I just brush it off, we all have bad days at work and that's exactly what the boys are doing when they play, they are working. I know some here and at the other place are very quick to condem them but I'm not one of them and I don't put players from other clubs down....except the Goosters but they usually deserve it....

Im glad you added the end bit lain or you would have left me with nothing to say lol.

As you said the roosters usually deserve it, i admit i have said some unfriendly things many a time about the roosters.

But why do we say it is it because they had a poor season or is it more they had a great season and beat us and continue to have all these pretty boys playing.

More often then not its the second option.

We on the other hand were option a this season just gone, we played below par and lost games that were our's for the taking and it came down to the last few rounds we could still make it but well we didnt.

Come on i can think of games off the top of my head, our loss to the bunnies, our poor game up at townsville our some what unlucky loss to both canberra and the storm in overtime.

Our absolute flogging in Adelaide against the storm.

All of them signled we had problems.

Mind you on the other hand there were a few good wins the one il remember for a while was against parra were gowie was taken to hospital the boys buried there studs in the grass and grinded out a good win.

But the fact's remain that as much as we all love the boys, we were all let down, il defend them to the death and i didnt take dave's comments all that well as i do disagree with them.

My point simply is that some of them do need a few home truths they need to get there head's back in the game if we are going to make the 8.

This season we cant use ref's call as an excuse or injuires or nothing, we have to perform we have apremiership winning line up and we have to atleast make the 8.

But il stress it i dont agree with dave, however this site is to express our thoughts and thats what dave has done.

In doing so he has left himself wide open for criticism of his own club.

So take that oppurtunity and use it, instead of people getting upset by dave's comments which he was entitled to say, get revenge simple.

Or take offense and make dave even happier lol.

My last words are while we celebrate this season dave yuor more then welcome th shead your tears and moan about another spoon down at panthers while we celebrate around you mate.

If it wasn't dribble then maybe it would have been accepted a bit better...have any of us been into the bunnies forum and crapped all over their players??? I do agree however that a lot of the boys played well below par for most of the season and they probably knew it but they were'nt given any new challenges from the coach...this year will be different, starting with the boot camp training...and Dave, you can complain about me all you like, just remember sticks and stones...

I thank my comrades for their support ( I know how hard it was for them!)

As for the rest of you, where is your sense of humour!

Its the off-season! Its Christmas! Why go all glib and ugly when all the sides are still on equal points.

If I was serious I wouldnt have invited the criticism anyway!

I forgot "Waterhouse the Wuss!"

But Rooney, he's the man! No laughing matter. Up he goes, captures the ball in his left hand (its over the touchline), juggles it and grounds the ball, a milimetre before sliding over the deadball line. Try!

Met JT tonight, very, very confident.

I kid you not, next year former Penrith great Ben Rogers will be injury free for the first time in years.

Lets hope he brings his panthers whiskas to Souths games next year!

Festive Tidings. I hope its safe and happy for youse all.

I hope the boys make it back from boot camp alive and content.

I wonder if Elliot has them meditating?!!

Quick Priddo pass the ball. Boompf!

Wheres da ball? da Bunnies they got it.

Damn.

Hey Flower, we lost the game. Quick, kick it to Minichello, oh no, he scored!

The lesson is:

Before youse glib mutterers tuck into wabbits remember dem bunnies showed youse up.

You can only snicker in muted tones now until we meet again, then its either back to full snickering glory or silence!

Dont forget, Q Dave, he loves youse all.
