Quick Priddo pass the ball. Boompf!

Wheres da ball? da Bunnies they got it.

Damn.

Hey Flower, we lost the game. Quick, kick it to Minichello, oh no, he scored!

The lesson is:

Before youse glib mutterers tuck into wabbits remember dem bunnies showed youse up.

You can only snicker in muted tones now until we meet again, then its either back to full snickering glory or silence!

Dont forget, Q Dave, he loves youse all.

I have a question...why are you having a go at Priddo?? He was one of the consistent players last season, as he always is and I mean consistently good...

And don't worry Dave, I have a great sense of humour, I just don't think you are at all funny....it's starting to get boring because you are doing the same thing ALL the time...maybe if you got some new material like looking in your own backyard...

I think he is taking jabs at the better players. I mean, the one he praises is Rooney???? One of our worst performers this year. He goes on to knock Priddo, Clinton, Wesser etc. our better performing players more often then not.

Knocking Rooney wouldn't offend many people... knocking those guys is going to stir people more easily. Although he chose the right players to target... it's not really funny anyway. Usually he offers a fairly good amount of input... int his thread he is a flatout dickhead.

People are so negative here these days.

Everyone knows I have a lot of time for the Panthers.

Underperforming forwards, flat backs, injuries to Gowie and a propensity to lose focus cost the 2006 squad dearly. But they almost made it. They simply ran out of gas. A hard season makes for a torrid slog.

The losses are Campbell, Swain, Galea, Stapo, Hookey and Howland and coming in are N Smith, Worth and Firman and I expect to see a few more. I am a Firman fan. On a good day, he is very exciting. He does lack some consistency so we will have to see if Elliot can fix that.

These player losses represent a substantial portion of the existing squad and I think if we are honest, it represents a a nett loss in terms of depth and the pressure is on the 2007 squad to be able to make this up.

They face fresh sides with different players and plays so the slate in terms of the opposition is clean. A loss against Roosters this year has no bearing on the outcome next year. No, nil bearing.

Once the injuries set in, it may be that you will have to play players that may not yet be ready. Some will have to stand up and realistically probably some will fail.

But if you can get through relatively injury free, there may be enough in the tank to go that extra yard. But It wont be easy, its all hands on deck.

If Rooney didnt see much of the ball this season, there was not much he could really do,so people shouldnt write him off so quickly.

Wingers arent key playmakers or have to defend the torrid centre.

Apart from running the ball up early in the tackle count (nobody is startled by that anymore!) they are finishers. And when he had to finish, on the whole, thats what he did.

I wonder how Matthew Bell will go. Other things being equal, players like him may well have a big influence on the season.

Is it me or is this the brightest thing dave has said in the whole thread

I belive it will be hard coz there isnt the bye anymore so the players will be extra tired hence the nrl should shorten the season since adding anther team

Yep, only on these weekends:
Round 6 - 21-23 April (following the April 20 Test); Round 10 - 18-21 May (preceding Origin 1); Round 13 - 8-11 June (preceding Origin 2); Round 16 - 29,30 June, 1,2 July (preceding Origin 3).

Our bye is in ROUND 10 (each team gets one bye and one bye only)

Well i still have to defend dave despite what people think he is a top bloke id sit down have a beer with and watch us smash those bunnies.

He is right in not criticising rooney as i though unlike many he was one of our better players.

Granted he came in field alot to get the ball that is the sign of a good player thoug.
All season we struggled to get the ball out wide to our faster players and dave is right in saying so.

He said our forwrds were flat there was no questioning that at all they were.

He said gower was injured well that was true, i do take offense to the comments on priddo as he is without a doubt my fave player.

But well its dave everything he says you take with two grains of salt and a large amount of vodka.

Who ever it was that said griffo was only making his point is right griffo was i know him personally and respect his opinion on things.

My point was simply dave like murraymob said is someone who likes to stir the pot and is quite good at getting a reaction out of people.

But to criticise his thoughts and opinions isnt needed they are his opinions and he is entitled to them just as we.

In closing the last thing il say is for lainey.

You agreed we were below par for most of the season, you then said it was because we didnt have any new challenges.

Thats were i disagree with you every season is a new challenge every game is a new challenge.

The truth is when we played well we won or lost due to ref's
When we played bad well it was obvious.

But we cant blame the ref or say we it was the coach or anything like that.

If we are good enough to win we should but we werent good enough and it cost us.

Now i suggest that dave and everyone else including myself should get over last season it was bad and we all know it and lets just focus on the bright future us panthers have ahead of us.

AMEN TO THAT.

By challenges I mean they did the same thing at training week after week, there was nothing new in their regimin which I feel should have been, fix the things that were going wrong don't just ignore them and hope they'll go away and they'll win. As everyone has said over and over, they were fantastic on paper, why didn't it follow through to the field.....and you're right, we can't blame the ref, he wasn't the one giving away penalties..granted we had some bad calls but it happens to all teams, not just Penrith..

With that i agree lol as if often said im not here to argue simply to talk footy, i miss took your previous comments about challenges and i apologise for that.

Your 110% correct about us being fantastic on paper but unfortunately well paper is easily destroyed like our season was.

Im looking forward to seeing what matt can bring to the table for us, i admit my feelings towards him are mixed, im not afraid of saying id sooner langy and am not to pleased of the way things came to an end, but thats footy.

I have no qualms in saying that or saying that i havent as yet made up my mind about elliott i think he may be good for us though i think it could work against us to.

If matt does well for us il applaud him if he doesnt well obviously i wont.

But as i said its time to start focusing on footy again instead of whats going on in the dressing rooms or board rooms and more importantly on what did or didnt happen last season.

We have some great up and coming players, we have made several buy's wether there effective or not is unknown, im a big supporter of firman and have made my feelings clear on the decision to buy him.

Overall i think we have a bright future and feel that with the team we have the top 8 is a realistic goal one that i would be dissapointed if we didnt make.

I was sceptical about Elliott at first, I think because of the way it was handled and Langy just being pushed aside like dinner scraps but that isn't Elliotts fault...I think he will do well and the team will listen to what he has to offer them starting with the training camp...it will do morale the world of good too.

Ummm Dave... it's you whom seems to be trying to persuade us with your dribble on how Elliott should *cuddle* players egos rather than roast them. What because we agree with his direct approach so far, we have become negative?

Someone earlier said you cant blame the ref. I sit in the eastern granstand and from where i sit i have often seen the ref mark the ten meteres with his walking stick. The fact he arrives with a rule book in braile .should tell you we are in trouble .There is never a bad penrith team just one that has been robbed.Elliott for mayor:shock:

Are you trying to pick a fight PK?

"Dribble" well thats a pretty postive description isnt it? Are you another negative panther? What are they putting in your merchandise?

How you could possibly come to your last speculative submission is beyond comprehension!

Anyway, I wont succumb to incitement.

We'll just see if the Panthers can perform under Elliot.

The more I think about it, the more I feel you need more quality buys.

I am just not sure if the youth program will ultimately succeed.

I agree with PK and I have said before it's dribble but I guess you're ignoring me now...I have said before that I thought you were a supporter of the Panthers but what you have posted above doesn't seem very positive either....you have contradicted yourself as far as I can tell...
