Wigan rested Tomkins, O'Loughlin, Leuluai, Richards and a couple of others, obviously expecting a walkover. Stupidity on their part. They could have gone top of the league with a win.

I missed where O'Brien was loaned to Widnes, anyone know who had good games for both sides? Two tries to Matty Russell, hoping he gets a full chance at some point.

The Widnes halfback pairing of 20yo's Gaz O'Brien and Danny Craven is like a breath of fresh air, for me that is what British RL should be all about.

Who is this fellow sat in front of me at the Wigan v Catalan game? Answers on a postcard.

Thank god that BJB try wasn't given like the commentators wanted.

The commentators are a joke and should be interchanged. They ruin the game.

That's some dodgy defence by Leeds, Chris Hill barges over.

On the back of a bullshit penalty though, Brent Webb was penalised for having a reputation while Westwood tried to make mash of his face.

Webb was penalised for hitting Matty B a few times and should really miss a game.

He should take up knitting, he cried everytime anyone tackled him.

and widnes beat wigan..........37-36

i would just like to add my :lol: to this.

I'm hoping the halfback pairing of Myler and O'Brien is the future Warrington and England halves combo with Ratchford at fullback...

Saints in crisis?

Leeds youth coming to the fore. Impressed by hood, watkins and hardaker. What is happening with Atkins? No England place, withdrew from England selection last year. Macnamara holding a grudge or are there issues behind the scenes? Wireman?

He pulled out of the 4 nations for personal reasons so maybe their is some bad blood from that.

Macnamara is useless though and is probably trying to talk Carmont into playing for England or something.

Ding Ding Ding

We have a winner :)

This was the best part of the day to me. I paid more attention to what he was saying to his coaching staff than anything else. I may never get that close to a 1st Grade coach in action ever again and I treasured every moment.

Heard on the weekend he was rumoured to have pulled out of the 4 nations squad because of a Stag do he wanted to attend. Can maybe understand why MacNamara might want to try some of the youngsters in that context, especially when it's effectively a rest year of sorts

The number of long term injuries is disappointing, the latest being Stefan Ratchford who was looking excellent for Warrington.
I think Rhys Evans may be out now too, I hope they don't call back Gaz OBrien cos I think playing week in week out at Widnes will be great for him.
John Bateman is getting big wraps at Bradford, I wonder with him now being a first team regular if the Bulls will release him to tour Oz with the England Academy in July.

He has looked brilliant, but Elima, Whitehead, Addy and Walker are all good (with Elima IMO being one of the best in SL) 2nd rows so I would let him go on tour if I was the Bulls. No point rushing the lad into week on week 1st grade any way at his age. A tour down under would do him more good.

Yeah i heard it was for a wedding. He won't play Youngsters though, he will play the Hull left side that has looked wonderfully average in the league.

I doubt we will bring him back. The halves are going fine and Riley will cover FB and Willaims can play wing. Evans should hopefully be back soon as i want him in the centres above Blyth who is solid but more of a backrower.

OBrien is Briers replacement. He is just warming up for the role now.

If i was Bradford i would not let any of my up and coming backrowers got to Aus. They have a habit of not coming back and the Rabbitohs will need a Crocker replacement soon!! :D

I could listen to Luke George all day, brilliant player and what an exciting set of backs Huddersfield have.

Giants did that with ease, George finished well but the inside work was good.

Reports from the Salford v Leeds game are that Leeds were absolutely brilliant and their young centres Hardaker and Watkins carved them up.

2921 career points for Kevin Sinfield, becoming Leeds most prolific points scorer in their 117 year history. What a privilege for the likes of Hardaker and Watkins. Must be great playing with such a club legend
