apparently Kieron Cunningham and high performance manager Mike Rush will take temporary charge of first-team affairs.

Round 7 results and attendances:

Friday
Salford 16-56 Leeds (6,891)
Hudds 42-4 Cas (6,928)

Saturday
Catalan 20-12 Hull KR (7,337)
Bradford 12-8 Saints (11,360)

Sunday
Wigan 42-30 London (12,608)
Warrington 32-30 Wakefield (-)
Hull 58-10 Widnes (10,705)

A few blow outs on the friday but the other games were close. Especially the Warrington one. Maybe this league is getting a bit better after all.

Thats a low crowd at Warrington though... :D

HT in the Wigan v Warrington game, good crowd and atmosphere. Lots of errors so far but still a really tough enjoyable battle.

Channel Nine's offering

Under 15,000 and a thrashing...

ESL's offering

21,200 and a 2 point difference..

Thanks Nine..I would've watched that if you'd put it on one of your Digital channels today instead of a movie probably from 1959..

Yeah it's really disappointing from CH9, when i watch the game online rarely can i watch it without the buffering and stop/start dodgy streams.
It's just not the same watching on a small screen anyway.

The first half was the fastest half of footy i have seen this year, i would love to ask Trent Waterhouse how the speed compared to an NRL game, having said that i also think the pace of the game contributed to the number of errors.

Despite that it was fascinating and enjoyable, both teams had players out and will be there at the end of the season, if Warrington are at full strength later on i think they will win it.

Have to mention this, a friend of mine over in the UK has an 18yo son by the name of Stevie Ward and he makes his Leeds Rhinos debut v St Helens on sunday.
I hope he does well, he is a good kid and a brilliant prospect.

Didn't know you got Eurosport in Australia. That's pretty pathetic that 9 were willing to give away the rights if true, good news for the fans though I guess.

Yeah we have had it for years, it shows French Rugby Top 14 replay games, it will be good to start watching some SL games again.

It's a shame you missed out on tonight's game, it would probably have been one of the fastest and most entertaining matches you've seen for a while.

I hope Eurosport do what Fox Sports use to do and have the ESL finals series all live, I like getting up early and watching the footy.

About time! And i will add the customary F*$K you channel nein

Top 14 is shown on eurosport, but not live only full game highlights of 1 or 2 matches per round and i think there is a highlights package for the rest as well.

I would expect ESL will get something similar? Although it would be easy for them to pick up the sky broadcast given its in english commentary. Heres hoping for live SL!

Wow what a round of crazy results with Widnes, Wakey, Salford and Hull KR all winning and Saints destroying Leeds.

What a uncompetitive league we all watch.
It will be better when 13 teams could win the comp...

Anyways, it will be interesting to see how Leeds respond, they carried the end of last seasons form into this one, will they be able to get it back or was that the last big showing from there golden generation. Tune in next week to find out..

As for Warrington, can't complain. Still playing at about 50%, to much drop ball but the defence is awesome. Top after playing away at all the top teams in the league. Nice.

Not that it matters though, no one really cares about results at this time of the year. Now we have enough points to make the 8 we can just relax now and save our energy, then play in a few games at the end to be champions. Yay.

Great response from Saints. Too much quality in that club to roll over. You could tell they were up for it in the first set. Thought we badly missed Webb and Mcguire, but I doubt their presence would have made a difference against a highly motivated Saints side. Sets up Saints v Wire nicely, and also, in a way might improve the standard of Leeds v Fartown at the weekend (both coming off the back of losses).

Lee Smith, I fear, might not wear a Leeds shirt again.

You're still a bit bitter about last year aren't you mate? ;-)

It's amazing how much Smith deteriorated as a player after just a couple of months in RU.

Has had some huge games for Leeds, but his return coincided with BJB and Watkins promotion who arguably at the time offered more. When Ablett and Hardaker offered more cover at centre and Webb playing so well at Full back, difficult to see how he could get back in the side. Reminds me of Mathers in many ways. Can be great in a confident side, often poor

Nope.

I'm saying it now before we get anywhere near the playoffs that i don't like the stupid system where the league means nothing.

If Leeds finish top of the league but Warrington win the grand final then Leeds are the best team in the league this year. I'll even re quote this should that happen and congratulate you.

Warrington beat one of their biggest rivals away from home and it counts for sh*t at the end of the day.

Leeds biggest rivals are about to go bust completely.

Welcome to the super league 2012.
