What I'd give for the days of Gaz and Coops as our centres.
I long for the day that we leave Lafai out of the team. May that day come this year.
Lafai is a dead end, a waste of time, pull the rip cord and bail out I reckon.
He'll be 28 next season so he isn't getting any younger.
At least Aitken is still young and fast.

I understand a certain important person at the Dragons feels that Aitken has reached his peak, so his position must in doubt.
The same person is more than happy with Lafai, so he looks safe.

We are blessed at SGI.
We have 2 international centres, 2 international halves and a pack full of ORIGIN stars/internationals!
2019 is our year!
You are an absolute glutton for punishment.
At some point next year you will be in the foetal position sucking your thumb wondering how you ever came to such a conclusion.

Both Lafai and Aitken are now not up with the top line centres in the competition. Lafai has never recovered from his leg injury and has lost whatever speed he had, while Aitken is a little faster which allows him to get to his opponent and miss him quicker than Lafai does. Just don't know how much longer we can say Aitken will learn to overcome his defensive weaknesses. Euan will turn 24 next season. If Aitken can't consistently make good defensive reads at 24 he is unlikely to experience a miraculous change in ability. In today's game 24 is not exactly young for a back. Miracles may happen. Let's hope so.

Agree . Lafai came to us busted and has never really recovered from his ACL injury . The bloke has plenty of skills but just cant run anymore .

I think there are bigger problems at hand with Aitken than his poor defence . The fact he has had a epidural injection to help his shot hamstrings is a major concern . He is heading the same way as Kitty Glymin .

So we got a bloke that can't run anymore and a kid that has shot hamstrings.
Hey I've got an idea! Maybe we should look to replace these guys with 1st graders that can run and don't have shot hamstrings!
Nah, lets wait another couple of seasons just to make sure we aren't missing something here.....

As you and I have said before Lafai and Aitken will be our starting centres . Anybody thinking otherwise is kidding themselves …. But.....It would be interesting to give Lomax and Mann a crack .

On balance on reading all this Aitken's best position is Left Right Out

I wouldn’t mine seeing Aitken on the wing. He wouldn’t need to have a strong passing game, His returns from kicks would be great to watch, he’d be in space and is strong on contact.
Any thoughts?

Have you ever watched Aitken try to take a high ball, turn and chase a ball kicked deep over his head or do the impossible one handed put down in the corner for a try?

Unfortunately Aitken is not a winger. In defence he will have the same problems with defensive reads.
