(couldn't find the thread, if there was one)

There are a few crucial matches coming up, here's just a few;

Slovakia vs Russia - 14, 17 points respectively

Turkey vs Germany - 14, 24 "" ok, Germany have well and truly run away with this group, but should be a decent match and the Turks are only 2 pts clear of Belgium. The playoff spot is up for grabs...

Serbia vs Italy - 14, 22. Italy have cemented it, but Serbia are definitely in with a chance here, Estonia only trail by a point, AND... who could forget the events in Genoa last time the two met, the match only lasted 7 minutes...

Nth Ireland vs Estonia - 9, 13. Same group, Estonia have played an extra match, so it could be a real 3-way battle for the playoff spot right up until the end.

Greece vs Croatia - 18,19 - Winner guaranteed top spot, loser guaranteed playoff spot. (i'm going to the match, woo! :D )

Montenegro vs England - 11, 17 - England should have this group wrapped up, but Montenegro are a bit of a bogey team for them, so who knows...

Those are the Friday matches, then there's another batch on Tuesday, after which a lot of places will become a lot more clear...

Hopefully Belgium go through in second over the Turks

Belgium could go deep into that tournament, if not WC2014 — they're building quite a formidable squad (Vansant Kompany, Vermaelen, Fellaini, Romelu Lukaku, Eden Hazard, Toby Alderweireld, Moussa Dembele).

Very true.

Don't forget Defour, Witsel, Vertonghen either.

Do Belgium have the same issues with squad unity that Spain does?

From my limited knowledge of Belgium they have two groups who speak different languages and generally hate each other. Hell, didn't they have no government for 6 months?

It's actually been well over a year... They have a great young team coming through no doubt. I don't think the French vs Flemish thing is a source of unrest in the team I think they've been missing from the last few major tournaments because they simply didn't have a good enough team ever since that previous generation (Wilmots, Nilis, Mpenza etc) retired.

The Swiss have three official languages and I don't think it's really effected them, though I do often wonder if countries like that have to agree on a common language to use whilst on the field....

I believe every Swiss kid is taught the three languages starting with the Swiss version of German in school. I don't think the hate is there either.

got my tickets for Greece v Croatia. Darijo Srna is out suspended, I guess that's the only positive for Greece. Croatia still a much better side on paper...

Well whoever Turkey get in the playoffs I hope they destroy them, preferably someone like Greece that will send the entire nation in to meltdown.

Lol @ Rooney, what a petulant little merkin. England have massive problems, they'll struggle to get out of the group stage if they get a half decent group but I think seeing them lose another penalty shootout would be the best option.

He really is an idiot who's still prone to brain snaps. As a striker, getting yourself sent off is actually quite a difficult thing to do, but he manages to achieve it occassionally... Very unprofessional and unnecessary especially when your team is winning too.

Sweden vs Netherlands on Tuesday would have been a blockbuster if they were both still going for first place... Still should be a decent match though...

A Revenge attack after the PAOK coach got attacked in Zagreb last season.

Obvious answer is to kick Balkan countries out of all football until they grow up.

Lol @ you for being so wound up by him. You hate English football so do yourself a favour. Don't watch it.

Rooney is ace. Now he gets a rest, misses a few pointless games and can come back to United and do is thing. If England suffer then a few racist cockneys will be upset. Win - win situation.

As for England, Young, Gerrard, Welbeck can play an advanced mid role. No worries.

What and have them start shooting at each other again out of boredom?

Hopefully NI can make a respectable showing in Italy. This campaign has been a disgrace and Nigel worthington should be sacked immediately.

You know he'll be suspended for their first match in Euro 2012 right?

Yup, but you don't win anything in the first game.

Was thinking more about the pre-comp friendlies which Capello has said he won't be playing in.

I'm sure England can cope without him for one match. As i said, we have at least 3 players who can play the role in a one of match to a high enough standard. Especially as they get a few games to practice.
Stick Young behind a front man. Sturridge can go left side attack. Easy.

Lol soap dodger in denial, tough time to be a pommy right now but hey when is it ever a good time?

So you don't think Young could play behind a front man or Sturridge has looked good at Chelsea? Or you don't really know what your talking about with regards to English football?

Your obsessed bud.

Its good being a pommy. Such a green and pleasant land.
