They've had 10 years to try to turn a population of people who loved the Bears and hated Manly into fans of the club. Geez, I'm sure Parra could get thousands of Bulldogs fans to support the Eels in 10 years if the Dogs suddenly disappeared. That's never been in question. Everyone can see it but it seems noone that has any authority wants to do anything about it. Just about every other club in NSW has been handed money to upgrade stadiums except Manly. Unfortunately with the incompetent fools at Warringah council at the healm things are not progressing as many of us would like. It's sounding more and more likely that things will change but unfortunately noone seems to have any answers. There will be an additional 1400 seats at Brookvale oval for the start of the 2012 season, putting the capacity comfortably over 20k. What Brookvale Oval lacks is corporate boxes and seats undercover (as well as shiny new toilet bowls for people who need to take a dump at half time).

tbh, I would rather see the QLD gov spend some money up here instead of blowing more cash down in SEQLD on a new stadium for the sunny cost sea eagles (not that I think it will happen in the near future). DFS is in need of a new western stand or ultimately, the new downtown stadium that was proposed a few months ago. Having gone out to the stadium yesterday to renew the old girls away membership, DFS is really looking her age these days.

You're living in a dream world. There are some nice parts on the Northern Beaches and there are some that are pretty bad. Same goes for the North Shore. Comparing Manly to North Sydney directly, is stupid because most Manly fans don't live in Manly and most NS fans don't live in North Sydney. It's true that more pretentious bastards from NS go to private school but they all start dropping out of Uni when they aren't spoon fed the answers. Higher tax bracket? Do you know how much properties in Manly sell for? You don't buy 2 bedroom units for $1 mill+ by being in a low (or even middle) income bracket. You've just once again demonstrated that you have got no clue. While the average IQs of people on the North Shore might be high, you must certainly be on the back end of the bell curve.
