Nothing against the Bears, but I don't think they'll move one Sydney team only to start another.
I think of the Sydney northern suburbs up to Hornsby as an expansion area. Must be 1 million people in that area.

Can’t say I agree, but I suppose that’s the beauty of having an opinion. I just think it sounds too EPL/A-League/soccer. That’s just my opinion though as I see no appeal in United and a random crest. Each to their own though.I've been thinking about this a bit, and I honestly believe that the best way forward for the next Brisbane club is for them to be called United.
Maybe call them the South Brisbane United Rugby League Football Club, and have a badge with a coat of arms, pick a local animal (or a pair of local animals) to be on the coat of arms, then pick a unique colour scheme and call it a day.
I didn't say a random crest (I actually have an idea for the coat of arms now that I've though about it), and there's a reason why united is so common in soccer (and other sports) around the world, they're using it to represent a region formally made up of disparate groups being united behind one club, which is exactly what the any bid should be trying to do in their half of Brisbane. Can’t say I agree, but I suppose that’s the beauty of having an opinion. I read somewhere that one of the punters here suggested the Easts Tigers NRL bid should take up the defunct Logan BRL club's moniker of the Scorpions. I dug around for a logo and came up with a jersey design for the club. I named them South Brisbane but honestly wouldn't care if it was Southeast or East Brisbane. That said, I give you the (South) Brisbane Scorpions.

The beauty about United is that it represents everything that a second Brisbane club should be. It's inherently neutral, it sounds traditional and community based as opposed to the Broncos corporate image, it's flexible and allows for change as the club gets nicknames organically, and it's pretty unique in a RL context.
No matter what brand you pick somebody will be pissed, but United is one of the least offensive names out there and it perfectly represents what a second Brisbane club should be attempting to do in one word.
I see your point on the colours/jerseys, however I'm pretty sure even teams that don't have a colour clash still wear their alternate/away jersey when they are the away team unless there is a colour clash between the home team and their away jersey, much like the NFL.While I think the brand makes a lot of sense, and the colours are certainly distinctive in the NRL, I don't think the colours work for a 2nd Brisbane club.
IMO any new Brisbane club should be steering clear of using yellow/gold or maroon/purple as major colours & have a clearly different palette to the Broncos. The Dolphins red & white (maybe with grey added to differentiate from the Dragons) or Ipswich's green & white are clearly different to the Broncos colours - and in derbies there's no need for either team to wear an alternate jersey.
It's called the Caduceus, it was Hermes rod in Greek mythology, but as a symbol it's way older than just it's depictions in Greek mythology. In Greek mythology it's come to symbolise both Hermes and messengers/couriers.thats not from the coat of arms, its from the Brisbane flag. You see it on Ambulances as well. But yeah it's an ancient greek symbol representing Hermes, not sure what it's got to do with Brisbane.... looks cool though.
The Caducei or staff of Hermes represents commerce. Hermes was the protector of commerce and trade. This is likely on the Brissy flag as the Brisbane River provided commerce opportunities for the city in its establisment.thats not from the coat of arms, its from the Brisbane flag. I really like that design! It's one of the best I've seen. The colours and brand would appeal to Logan residents, too.I read somewhere that one of the punters here suggested the Easts Tigers NRL bid should take up the defunct Logan BRL club's moniker of the Scorpions. If it was me I'd want something more unique to the club, and of more cultural significance to Australia.I whipped this one up last year based on the Brisbane coat of arms (but with a colour change because we don't want another blue team)
Mascot could be a surgeon or the greek god hermes (or anything really if its not based off the logo)
Logan - when he retirees Immortal - mind you, if he was a crim (some of his actions on the field..criminal lol! ) He would've made more money than a League Immortal ..lol!I really like that design! It's one of the best I've seen. The colours and brand would appeal to Logan residents, too.
I'd pick a fight with a rooster or moray eel over an ibis any day of the week. Not the dreaded Ibis !
Australian white ibis is commonly seen around Brisbane, Logan, Redland City. They're quite tame too, willingly walking up to people. If it was me I'd want something more unique to the club, and of more cultural significance to Australia.
I'd do something very similar to Miami's logo-
Instead of the herons I'd have white ibis, and maybe put a landmark in between them with the sun overhead.
Make their colour scheme majority white and black with just a smidgen of magenta, to represent the colours of an ibis, and that would give you a unique colour scheme that doesn't clash with anybody, with a unique mascot that's culturally relevant to Australia, and represents the city rather well, and with a name like United you have the flexibility to change it in the future.
TLDR; basically the Bris-Bin Chickens done tastefully.
I reckon there should be at least 2 or 3 clubs with BRL identities. It allows the clubs to have an established fan base and culture that resonates with the people. There's too many unknowns in creating a new brand like Bombers or Titans.I'm warming more and more to the idea of a few of the interested QLD Cup parties jointly owning an NRL team. It would be great if this team was called something like Brisbane United a bit of a nod to the past with BRL United on the logo or even getting the rights to the old BRL logo.

My teams would be East Coast Seagulls to cover the east, Brisbane Devils and Moreton Bay Dolphins. Seagulls could be a merger between Wynnum and Tweed Heads, who were part of a merger with Valleys in 88/89 and won both premierships.
I would really like a Brisbane Devils team to unite Wests, Souths, Easts and Norths so it can cover all of Brisbane. They would use the Devils name of Norths as it's the only one of the four clubs that isn't tied to a Sydney team. Base them at Coorparoo.
These 3 clubs would shake things up and turn the Donkeys into also rans.
