The 57 used in the movie lived in Penrith in the mid to late 80's. I havent seen it around since about 1990. It was actually a 4 door, in the flesh you could see the sinkbacks where the back doors had been welded shut.
I remember a friend of mine saying he had seen it cruising around Penrith back then.

Frank Doubleday RIP. Also in Carpenter’s other early 70’s classic Assault on Precinct 13. I remember watching this scene as a 13 year old for the first time. Romero was the scariest of all the crooks.

Have had the day off and Jaws is currently on Fox. That scene where Quint describes his experience after the Indianapolis sinks is pure class. Robert Shaw passed way too early. His acting skills were second to none.
As popular as that movie was, it is still underrated in that so many small ingredients were put together to make one perfect recipe. You could easily pick half a dozen scenes in that movie that are absolute classics. But, I agree the Shaw one was the best.

Director: Sergio Leone

Has his classic western that will stand the test of time.
I loved watching the directors cut and seeing deleted scenes especially in the Good the Bad and the Ugly which make sense after seeing these scenes.
Others are
Fist full of Dollors
Few Dollars More
And Once upon a time in the west.

Its funny, when i was younger i thought that scene was so boring but being older and more hindsight now that scene is so powerful and pivotal to building the suspense, fabulous acting by Shaw, i actually get a bit of chill watching it now.

I agree with you’ve said but I think if you read into RS and his lifestyle you’ll realise his liver gave quite an above average fight before his death.

He was an extraordinary actor who loved his family but possessed the same everyday foibles as all of us.

Absolutely, had a massive drinking problem that ultimately led to his death whilst still pretty young.
