Can't be bothered going through a major list and most of the heavy bands I listen to have gotten a mention, so the big 3 are

Black Sabbath (With Ozzy)
Kyuss
Tool

and I because I think they deserve a run Machine Head has to get a mention. Don't think anyone mentioned them yet.

Ahh yes, Burn My Eyes was a brilliant album.

Does anyone else agree that there are too many bands that start with 'The'?

The one exception is 'The The' which encapsulates the ridiculousness of calling a band 'The ...'

You forgot Alice in Chains - the greatest of all grunge bands!!!

Kudos though for STP. Great band in their early days.

Through The Ashes Of Empires is a return to form and helped MH back into regular rotation for me, if you've gone off them after The Burning Red and havn't bothered with Through The Ashes Of Empires you should check it out.

That certainly is a diverse range of music!

I don't have a huge list of favourite bands, as I like a few bands, and the rest of my music taste seems limited to a few songs here and there of lots of bands ... if that makes much sense!

Queen (by a country mile!)
The Screaming Jets
Guns 'n' Roses
Australian Crawl
AC/DC

And if we're including solo artists as well, then you can throw in Jon Bon Jovi, and John Farnham ... probably just above AC/DC in my list.

I notice that numerous people here have nominated Queen as one of their favourite bands ... have you signed the petition to bring the Queen + Paul Rodgers tour to Australia? The address is in my sig (sorry, I couldn't resist the urge to mention this!).

Ministry.

Just love em :)

As soon as i discovered that this rock thing was true,
Jerry Lee Lewis was the devil.
Jesus was an architect, previous to his career as a prophet
All of a sudden i found myself in love with the world
so there was only one thing that i could do
was ding a ding dang my dang a long ling long

Best Albums :-

1 . The Mind is a Terrible Thing To Taste
2. Psalm69
3. The Live Album that came free when Ministry headlined the Big Day Out in 96 with a purchase of Psalm 69. Awesome stuff. This was ONLY released in Sydney, and i own it and cherish it:)

4. The land of Rape and honey

They have ALOT more albums than this, but these are my 4 faves ...

When Ministry tour, the crime rate rises by 10% ... a proven fact.
Alien Jourgenson was arrested with a violin case full of smack, and that sorta half killed them off.
But alas, they are no more ... Paul Barker tried to get rid of Al, and they just died naturally ... No Alien = No Ministry :(

Still you've gotta love a live band with 4 guitarists and 4 percussionists, sh*tloads of shrunken heads on sticks and a psycho on vocals... yes baby that sound is BIG !! LOL

p.s. White Zombie could only try to copy them ... but The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste is just so unique, noone could dream of beating it. This is like The Matrix as sound ... its just superb. But its hard to find.
