I like the fact the money keeps getting brought up when you paid how much for Mortimer? Uh oh. But yeah you're pretty much spot on, we're happy to have them, you guys are glad they're gone. I just thought it was funny that guy thought Inu getting mowed down meant he wasn't in good form this season.
No, it exemplified that nothing had changed with Inu.

Let's re-visit this thread in 18 months time and see who will be up for a dish of humble pie. As I said before, nice human beings and I hope they do well at their new club.

Exactly. He hasn't changed one bit since his days here. Would have dearly loved to have kept him and Mateo though.

I've said it countless times, re-signing a young kid who had been the five-eighth in a grand-final participating team to $200,000 was well worth it at the time. We would have looked like idiots if we didn't re-sign him, and its' well documented that other clubs were trying to throw money at him.
Unfortunately, we looked like idiots regardless because of his massive form slump.
I also think we have recognised his value now and will not pay for potential next contract. Will the warriors do the same for Mateo or will he finally live up to his potential?

As far as Mateo goes, if he is indeed on 400K, then they are over-paying him. Mind you though, having watched the Warriors a lot this year, he has been close to their best player. His present form equates to them paying him about 50K more than they should be, his form at Parra would indicate that they overpaid by about 150K.
Regardless, he is in fantastic form for them.

It's interesting to note that values haven't been thrown around about what Esi Tonga and Ben Roberts will be earning, I assume it can't be that much then. Hopefully it means we aren't going to over-pay for players.

I hope he gets his crap together and comes back bigger and better than before. As i've said several times before, i am an Inu fan but i've never seen a bloke with more talent and not use it or have lost it...

Mateo has been great so far. Attitude seems top notch, plays decent minutes, makes metres, and sparks the team while curbing his need to offload every single carry. Suits us down to the ground.

Inu, well, I love the skills and he's been very effective at times -- although not near his Eels peak way back -- even allowing for his, frankly Warriors-like explosions, but...

...didn't make the team for the first game for some reason and hasn't been included in our last three teams for some reason.

NZ Herald.

from Ivan Cleary said:
"He's just down there sitting on a mat," Cleary said when asked where Inu was.

Asked to explain why the devout Mormon should find himself in such purgatory, Cleary said: "He knows. He has a few things to work on there."

He's a crack-up, that Ivan, and that 'some reason' is a bitch. Conjecture, etc, but probably the same 'some reason' that was at the Eels. Will be interesting to watch this unfold, especially when the new coach is named. If I was a betting man I'd sense a long and successful future with the Vulcans or a release unless said new coach can light a fire under his arse.

Anyway fellas. Subject to revision we've hit a home run with one of the maligned duo. A fair and probably expected outcome IMO.

Wait til Feleti backs it up next year under a different coach. Love watching him in full flight though, I hope he can stay consistant.

Mateo is only warrior averaging over 100m running per game. Been the wariors best player all year.

But parra resigning priority is mortimer!

I believe that Mateo has been one of the best Warriors best player this year.

Inu has also been one of the form backs but not able to get back into 1st grade - off field issues?

Veteran forwards Petero Civoniceva and Nathan Hindmarsh are both refusing to rule out the possibility of turning out for a 16th NRL season.
Contracted through to the end of next season, it was assumed the pair would hang up their boots after 2012.
But 35-year-old Penrith skipper Civoniceva says he is already eyeing a new deal for 2013, while Parramatta captain Hindmarsh will wait until next year to make a decision on his retirement.
Civoniceva and Hindmarsh will go head to head on Saturday night in what will be Hindmarsh's 300th game in the NRL.
