Forgot Kite too, they signed him to apparently a huge deal when he was in great form with the Saints.

Watmough, Menzies, Stewart, Matai are also on very good deals

Add to that Burns wouldnt be suprised if his on the same $$ as T.Smith and King (from what i heard they had give extra $$ when roosters were after him)

A tour of the northern beaches escorted by a rather large ex-Tiger and then the Narrabeen fitness centre may be a clue.
If that club manages to keep under the cap wthout some creative accounting then I will sleeping wth Chrstina Aguilera tonight and that won't happen. Tend to agree that we are reasonably honest in our contract dealings and that may be to our detriment but the new poker machine tax will bite real hard.. thanks to the ALP.

the tour of the Northern Beach's would of been escorted by a large person but not an ex-Tiger as his no longer part of the club ;-) don't doubt that the person was large though :)

Oops Eela you are no doubt correct again getting my nicknames mixed up. At least they both end in .....er.
Let's hope loyalty counts for something but player managers have a big say these days - at least in $$$$$$ over loyalty

i think we are going to have penty of money to sign some new players. with so many first graders leaving and only being replaced with juniours, one would think we would have some cash.

Thats what i think...the only thing stopping us signing our juniors is if they want to play somewhere else....but if Mateo goes to manly for pretty much the same $$ we r offering him...then tbh he can piss off!

tbh, if we managed to lose just Timana and keep everyone else and make no new signings, we'd have the nucleaus to win the comp, but unfortunately that's just not realistic at this stage.

f**king Lowrie & Reddy. Unlike others i was absoluetly pissed Reddy was resigned for 2 years, now we may loose our best young forward because that tosser was resigned, greedy scab.

i agree with ron.

no way reddy should hae been resigned before feleti. i am of course assuming his salary comes under the main salary cap.

A clue? ok einstein, would've resigned Reddy knowing that we would be struggling to have enough funds to resign Smith, Feleti?

I'm sorry but i'm a big believer in having your priority resignings and then whatevers left use that to sign the dregs liek Reddy and Lowrie.

Ian - Yes
Wags - ???

Ok...so from that we know that I.Hindy and Tahu are definatly leaving....if managment have any idea, they will see that Mateo, Smith, Inu and Keating are a must....considering one isnt gonna play first grade week in week out next year, that leaves 3....and with all the other players coming off contract, that we cant sign those 4 plus, re-sign/sign a couple is a bit of a joke..

If this is true, then i think we need a roosters like overhaul....get rid of the rubbish sucking the cap dry in bring in the players that will bring glory.

we sure do, but signings i think are essential in keeping a team fresh and motivated. the success of 2001 and 05 came about though some awesome signings (01 taylor, buetner, drew, solomona / 05 tahu, robbo, riddell ,marsh, morrison) and the devlopment of sum awesome talent (01 marsh, ryan, ihindy, lyon / 05 smith b & t, fui). i think we are on the verge of that again, we have developed some awesome talent in Mateo, Hayne, Inu and cordoba. We also have money to spend on the open market, some smart purchaes will make us a very powerful force next season.
