I was asked if I would come:
"No"
"Why not?"
"Why isn't no a good enough answer? Is that not clear enough? You don't want to hear my reason, so just accept no and go away"
"I want to hear your explanation"

"I do, tell me"
"OK, it's f**king stupid to have a party on a weeknight when we all have to come to work the next day. that's not a party, it's a quiet beer at a pub with a parma and then we go home before it gets too late. It's a completely idiotic concept and I will not support it"

"And you didn't have to be so f**king stupid, but you went right ahead and did it anyway."

Him: Hey nick are you coming to the Christmas party?
Me: No.
Him: Why not?
Me: cause im not
Him: but why?
Me: cause i said no.
Him: But why?
Me: Fine. Because frankly i have absolutely nothing in common with his work force of rejects. I have no interest in socialising with anyone here and i have better things to do with my time then go to the work Christmas party.
