Finals Week 1: Panthers vs Warriors

I knew what I was going into when I purchased my tickets for the game this Saturday, but also thought it was a double header. Not that I care for in anyway for the other teams, but to have this game at ANZ is just ridiculous!!! If the NRL is trying to make the NRL look like a joke from a marketing perspective they have done their job. This game will have the lowest attendance of all the weekend games. If at Penrith , full stadium atmosphere would have come across the TV of what a marketer would promote. The NRL are muppets collecting their paycheque. Hey NRL here’s a tip turn the GWS vs Swans game on then flick it to the Warriors v Panthers game and tell me what’s more marketable.

Warriors v Panthers will have a smaller attendance, but at least they're not playing AFL.

I just think they don't give a shit about Sydney teams, apart from the Roosters and maybe the Dragons, Bulldogs and Parramatta. The big money and the big fanbases. They'd be more than happy to boot us and a few others but know the void would be filled by other sports, most likely AFL.

Kent (God love him) on NRL 360 last night, declared the refs will be lenient for the finals. So expect it to be the same as last weeks rubbish...for us anyway.

It is just further proof NRL has no interest in crowd numbers. What TV wants TV gets
The scheduling had more to do with the agreements with the RLPA to ensure 6 days minimum between games come finals time, and the unavailability of Suncorp on Saturday than any TV decisions.
We just need to get out in force and make it a minimum 25k crowd. If we could get 20k at Penrith then with the extra Warriors fans 25k should be easy!

Think I read somewhere that the NRL were concerned that if there was a double header the crowd might be less than the competing single game of AFL.

Opted for separate venues to avoid the embarrassment...

Penrith apparently said no to a DH at Allianz, and the Roosters said no to ANZ.
Hence the two venues.

Souths and Broncs are the 2 TV love. Hence one was always going to be the Fri night game
