Finals Week 1

Preference, Anz Saturday. If unable to do so id love to see, rather than a double header, one game at Allianz and the other at SCG. Make an occasion of it. Ticket to one game, half price to the other. Two good crowds likely. I know there would be issues with 20's so maybe not feasible but would be something different and exciting

An SCG game does sound good but it's crap viewing for rugby league - too far away.

The touchie can't hear my abuse if I sit to far away ;-)

Sharks can play any of the Knights, Titans, Cowboys or Warriors - I think Remondis would be fine for any of those match ups - SFS will barely crack 15k for any of those games.

Why would the sharks be able to play at Shark Park...?? :sarcasm:

Has to be Allianz..

Manly were never given the chance to play at Brookvale last year vs Cowboys

Yeah NRL has the pick for finals...

Remember last year when swans got punted to a friday night and ruined AFLs precious time off guarentee..

NRL can play real hardball here if they want,

THey could ask for ANZ Friday and Sat,, and make AFL choose between SCG and ANZ on Sunday, and they dont play finals on sunday

Apparently not. The NRL has confirmed the schedule as follows:

Friday 7:45PM - Souths V Melbourne/Manly (ANZ)
Saturday 4PM - Cronulla V ? (Allianz)
Saturday 7:30PM - Roosters V Melbourne/Manly (Allianz)
Sunday 4PM - Bulldogs V ? (ANZ)

The double header is madness IMO, It will potentially lock out 15-20k people depending on what the matchups are. Given the roosters play 2nd and will account for 20k of the 45k crowd IMO I wonder if they will bother to turn up for the first match given the extended break between games.

I might go to the Swans game in protest.

This is the most vile decision by our admin for a while.

Bring back Neil Whittaker.

$70 cat 1 tickets for the double header... That's going to encourage fans to turn up!

They will be lucky to he 30k combined at those prices. I am not turning up 3 hours early to watch a f**king game I was never going to go to and pay an extra $20 for the privilege. I'll still go, but won't be there for he stupid sharks game. And I am a bloody die hard whose been to every game this year, I shudder to think what the casual fan's opinion will be.

I can't believe how much of a f**k up this is. It boggles the mind just how dumb NRL marketing is.

Hope roosters fans snap up all the category 1 then don't show up for the sharks game. Having huge sections of empty seats would be a fitting result

this is an absolute joke.

so basically, if Manly want to win tomorrow, they'll be penalised with a 5 day turnaround for their first final.

pathetic how this has been released prior to the results of this round have been determined, and without regard for team break.

they f**ked up the schedule of the last couple of rounds, and now the NRL (or is it C9?) have pulled the trigger on finals before the season has ended.

f**ked.

and everyone does realise that the AFL have basically got their way again. the swans can only play a saturday final next weekend because subiaco has a rugby match so fremantle (if they lose) can only play on friday.

no doubt Olympic Stadium and the AFL have rushed the NRL into decision making because the AFL need to finalise their games for next before the NRL. the NRL have once again rolled over and taken it up the arse while the AFL has their foot on the NRL's head, and compromised the scheduling and integrity of the NRL's own competition.

Agreed its horrendus. Will not be going at $70 (for ticketed members), have no interest in being in the ground for 5 or 6 hours. I maintain that holding each as a seperate event at Allianz at 3 or 4pm then 7.45pm would be a reasonable expectation of the SCGT to be capable of doing.

IMO this is the worst decision the NRL has made in a very long time, i normally give admin the benefit of the doubt on many issues but they have got this wrong.

Perhaps they are banking on neutrals seeing the value in 2 games but that is as far as i will give credit for this decision. Terrible

^^^^Good point. Why has finals info been released and stadia assigned before the matchups are even known. None of the 4 games in week 1 have matchups set in concrete. FFS we still don't have final standings from 3rd to 8th and if they have done this schedule on an assumption that certain teams will win then that is very dangerous and worrying
