A lot of if’s… hope he improves but I am not holding my breath.
Some have been achieved already.
+ Bulked up ....tick
+ Hasn't lost speed....our high performance guys will have ensured this ..tick
+ Learns off Gutho....has embraced the Gutho signing and they have been hanging together and has bought into the learning off Gutho ...tick
The other two will be seen on the field.
His attitude looks like he has bought in and will do everything he needs to do.

He has exactly the right mentor to teach him to talk on the field. Gutho wins the Gold for talking on the field

All true, but there is so much competition for wing spots. Can he get a run or is he now the reserve fullback?

Troy Hodges was 7, and Peter Coyne was 6. They weren’t exactly a halves pairing to die for, but they did their job as best they could. I surely didn’t get off my seat thinking, Here we go. Noel Goldthorpe came into the FG team in 1993 and was an improvement, but he wasn’t elite enough to win us the 1993 GF against Langer and Walters.
St George over achieved under a great coach in Brian Smith, Smithy was tremendous in rebuilding crap teams.
Goldthorpe was 7 in both those grand finals. I agree Brian Smith did a great job when he coached us.

Lodge not heading to Souths surely he is coming to us now.
Where Lodge is going is doing my head in.
Lodge says not too long back he is definitely staying in the NRL in 2025.
Souths or the Dragons the most likely destination.
Here we are right on the brink of all the clubs about to go on their Christmas break, and still nothing.
Unless he has done a deal somewhere that is not to be announced until next year, I just don't get it.

I know thought this would have been done already.

It's curious. Perhaps the bold proclamation from Big Rig that the signing was "done, pending announcement" was true after all

All these people wanting Lodge? If he was that good one of the many clubs he has been to would have held onto him, instead they have released him or signed him short term and never extended. He surely cannot be that good.

If Saints do land him, I really hope it is a 1 year deal on no more than 300k. And if he proves himself extend. That would be good business.

Looks like Flanno relying on the youngsters coming through. Nothing wrong with that at all.

I think you hit the nail on the head. These young guys coming through look good. I'm sure Flanno has plans to use them here and there next year to blood them into the team eventually so they don't get worn out too quickly. I'd be bringing a couple of them off the bench in games to give them a couple of runs and a few spells each game. Pasifika looks like he might be our next prop long term hopefully.

His last deal at Manly was $150k (so I understand).

Agree but we have one spot left another experienced player will only help, I would have him over Lawrie or M Molo any day of the week.

Re lodge, flanno wants a quality big prop but also professional experienced players who 'act' as another coach to help 'coach' the youngsters. I don't think Lodge fills either requirements, otherwise he would've had more interest from other clubs. He's bounced around teams & he's been a bit injury prone too. I don't think he's a quality prop either, too risky to use a roster spot on him.
