Flanno wants 'good' experience. Guys who can contribute in helping others get better, essentially experienced players with teaching abilities. I don't know if Lodge fits that criteria.

With Leo on 3 years (from 2026) and Lodge on 1 or 2 (from now) and the young forwards coming through, and Atkinson, the years 2026 (last year of Cook) and 2027 (last years of Val and Gutho) would see us high on the table. But would 2026 and 2027 be a premiership "window"?

Lodge takes number 30 this year and we move on two for Atkinson and Thompson for 26. Fifita is one or he steps up out of the blue.

Id be front loading Blake and Rava as much as possible this year and go with what we’ve got. JDB also in the equation there.

We can hope, but that would be a complete haul in one season.

If you want Thompson then LPT is gonna need to come on real quick because Thompson is a great player but not really any bigger than molo.

LPT would need to be on a Haas type trajectory to be ready to start in 26 or they will lack too much size up front.

Not saying it couldn't happen and if it did we'd have an incredible front row but yeh I don't think Thompson is the first play prop we need especially at 800k plus.

All these people wanting Lodge? If he was that good one of the many clubs he has been to would have held onto him, instead they have released him or signed him short term and never extended. He surely cannot be that good.

If Saints do land him, I really hope it is a 1 year deal on no more than 300k. And if he proves himself extend. That would be good business.

Looks like Flanno relying on the youngsters coming through. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Of course, Flanno will be relying on the young guns long term however, we still need a Lodge and a Thompson over the next two seasons.

Agree Sage. His upper body looks strong but his illness has obviously had a big impact on his lower half.
