Flanno's New Signings

May be a good Hunt replacement. Only 24.
Metcalf did miss start of season (Hammy) and End of season (Hammy- other leg against us). He’s also had an ACL in 2019

However, due to Te Maire Martin’s broken leg, Metcalfe became Shaun Johnson's preferred partner in the halves. All up, Metcalf played 12 games for the Warriors this season, all at five-eighth, scoring six tries and creating three more. He also harbors ambitions to play 7

It’s a definite “worthwhile” for me.

IMO AFB was not a good fit for you guys anyway. If you had Deardon coming in for a long term deal, then AFB would have been great to complement, but you were never going to be able to land both.

AFB by himself is not an ideal player to build a club around. He’s signed for the sharks for 4 years, but realistically we are only banking on a couple years as a possible title push. He fits what the sharks need.

Much as I enjoy seeing the dragons at the bottom of the table, Flanno will get good performances out of the team. He's a winner and a much underrated coach. I’d be nailing my colours to the flanno mast if I were you lot.

Flanno will have to build a good solid top 8 team not a premiership winning team, before so called elite players will want to come too St George.
I keep thinking of what Brian Smith did back in the early 90's; buying good solid forwards the likes of David Barnhill, Jeff Hardy, Scott Gourley, Mathew Elliott, Tony Priddle and Co, as bunch of so called rejects making two Grand finals.
Hame Sele is an example of these type of players Flanno needs to go fishing for, IMHO I think Flanno tested the waters with AFB realising he'll need to take a longer route to success, there's a lot of great young players coming from the junior pathways. When the time comes where 90% of the squad are all elite juniors, this is Twiggy Forrest money comes into play where we can retain all our Future Bull Baileys, Gordon Tallis's, Choc Mundines, Brad Mackay's and Mark Gasniers of the World.
Premierships will be more enjoyable.

Don't bother reading this.

I got to the third line and it's just a rehash (always with back story) that's repeated ad nauseum and we're going to cop now and almost daily till a ball is kicked in '24. Pretty limp really.
Theres 2 1/2 seconds of my life I'll never get back!!

If Amone goes (and im sure he will appeal yet), we need to replace that halves body, thats #1 of our non-negotiables.. were not gonna play a kid like King-Togia in 1st grade after hes had 3 reserve grade games.. he was playing SG Ball this year... we need real coverage for Hunt and Kyle.

That doesnt leave many options for 2024.. Gamble if hes up for it.. why the hell not.. its got to be someone like that.. were not going to shoot for a young 18yr old.. we need a 1st grader, itll be good for the cup side also.

I feel like there are a couple of spine players at the tigers and dogs that would be cheap pickups (that they might be happy to let go to save cap space).. but we wont be able to get them until during 2024 when they arent getting gametime.. we need to have this player contracted before March 1st... and ideally 'now' for pre-season.
