It's a good thing thinking positive, before Flanno you would need a straitjacket, with signings of Gutho, Cook, Holmes, it seems the tide is turning, if Flanno can get a strong Prop and Adam Douehi before 2025 stage 2 accomplished.
Stage 3 Atkinson or Wishart or both with more grunt up front for 2026.
Agree, it would be a shame not to go into next season now that we have recruited these three without another quality forward. I just wonder if they have agreed with Lodge but just staying quiet…?. Anyway, got a feeling that something could happen between here and Christmas break…

That may very well be the case 56-66 , the coach may be content with 2 those signings and as you have said having Wishart and Atkinson signed from 2026 , as I doubt very much if the Sharks or Melbourne would allow either player to leave a year early .

We could also go after more forwards for the’26 season .

I really cant see Wishart coming back, he has come out publicly to say he is happy at the Storm , wants to pay them back and willing to do whatever the team and Bellyache wants. So what has changed to make him come over, money , homesickness, and besides being a half at the Dragons would be vastly different to one at the Storm. We would crucify him if we paid him big bucks and he couldnt handle the pressure or the position. He would have to think its a career ending move, anyway stranger things have happened, I'd rather Atkinson or Illias to tell you the truth.

No need to apologise RVH. All are entitled to their opinions.

For me, Brodie Croft is a massive risk compared to Atkinson

Discarded from Brisbane Broncos development squads as a youth. He was put in a Storm talent squad at 16-years old. In 2020 he was released by the storm. After securing a contract with Broncos, he was released at the end of the 2021 season.

Neither the Storm nor Broncos could see him in their future plans, and no other NRL team was interested at $$ of ESL.

Although his is one of the leading lights in ESL, what other Australian super league player, unable to secure an NRL contract, has returned to the NRL and starred?

I reckon he’d be competent at best and expensive competing with current contract, though I’d still cheer for him if he was wearing the Red V.

Atkinson, however, has done his time then had a breakout year in the NRL standing out in a team that made the top four. Under Flannagan guidance and a firm position (5/8) he has a much greater chance of shining. His cost would be less and his age ensures a bright future at the Dragons.

I just believe he is a better bet!

As I thought - If successful Croft will cost an arm and a leg & a long term contract

BUNT - MARK II

Once bitten - twice shy!

Flanno IMO will not be on board if a huge fee is involved. And I agree with him. Too risky and not a smart move. Especially when there are other cheaper options.

I still like Doueihi
