Wow!!!!!

Been tied up a day and finally get to do some reading on the forum and it's like a we've enteted some parrallel universe.

So, McInnes (now referred ti as McOuttes) pulls the pin. Whilst shocked, it's actually a good thing. Lets see if his career takes off elsewhere or just hecome another defender. He doesnt want to be here under our new coaches then best he goes.

Now, Folau. This must have been inbthe process for some time, as reports are a 2yr deal only needs NRL approval and given the 'flexibility' shown by them lately it may well and truly happen.

As for playing position, I wouldnt be surprised to see him in the forwards either at edge or at lock a position that would suit under the modern games rules.

So exactly what has transpired thus far ? How far along are we ?
Has IF been offered a 2 year contract by St G ? HAS HE AGREED to this contract ? Has the contract been submitted to the NRL for consideration ?
Or is it simply the case of Webb and NRL having a chat ?

And the Muslim religion don't have archaic views re homosexuality? The media would never upset the minorities... Falou was just an easy target
That's not true.

In the past, when muslims with influence came out to express those archaic views, they soon found themselves getting criticised by the media and community (including by other muslims). You may have forgotten that Folau was also criticised by other christians.

Folau's comments about the bushfires being god's punishment for gay marriage were appalling. Even PM Morrison, an evangelical christian, heavily criticised Folau. Even Alan Jones, a long time supporter of Folau, told him to shut up. The only people left defending Folau were those to the right of those two.

So, I have a question: is it really about religious free speech... or are people just getting tired of these far right lobby groups creating divisions while hiding behind the notion of religious free speech?

What if we begin to debate Folau’s comments IF - IF - IF the NRL actually agrees to him returning to the game . After all the way our luck has been of late the Sharks may sign him instead .

And atheists. And people who have sex. And people who have idols. And people who drink. And...
However unlike homosexuality, each of those ones are a choice we make..

By all means criticise someone for their choices, but it’s not right to criticise someone for something out of their control such as their sexual orientation..

One question... If he was Muslim would the media have a problem with him and make such a big deal about it? I think not

Good point - the media only discriminates against Christians with coloured skin. Folau MUST be registered to show that rugby league is for everyone and doesn't discriminate. Would energise your lacklustre backline too.

When you can find reports of atheists etc getting bashed and murdered in Australia just for being who they are, then come back to me.

Sign him up best dragons signing since griffin. There will be a shut ya mouth clause in his contract. Im all of sudden excited to be a dragons supporter again

LOL,

Griffin hasn't coached a game yet, so a little early mate.

As to Izzy, just look at how polarised our little forum is, without even having secured his services.

Does the Club need to invite more controversy to it's ranks now ?

Yes I’m similar to you late catching up on the news. Just posted on the McInnes thread.

If there’s anything to Falau coming to us, Falau at fullback probably gets us into the top 4!

he will be gagged not from the Dragons but the NRL....so no worries there...he wont say a word except on the field...right centre, full back doesn't matter but I do know that our halves will have some massive targets to aim for w high kicks in Lomax and Folau...4 pointers will be raining week in week out..

Well, It's a huge worry, mostly for the reasons discussed around his archaic beliefs and the fact he couldn't keep his mouth shut AFTER being told to.

Not to mention, you said right centre. Who plays right centre for Saints mate? Only one of our most exciting and consistent players, Zac Lomax. Lets take him out of position again and see what happens.

Leave the straw man at the door. Which Muslim professional NRL player has made public statements on social media echoing those views you allude to?
What an absolutely ridiculous, completely irrelevant point to try and make in defence of Folau. The fact that your scenario hasn’t happened shows you the amount of merit of your post has, absolutely none.

As if the NRL would give saints a favourable decision? If it were any other club he would be announced as their new signing by now and the NRL would have rubber stamped it. I cannot remember NRL ever supporting Saints for anything to help them.
