And we all saw what an average half with good kicking ability can produce.. ala Luke walsh
But he didn't have a good kicking game outside of a bomb. His short kicking was meh and his long kicking was terrible. He just couldn't get the metres with those tiny legs of his. His long kicks were like a pop gun.

The season his bombs were being caught by Coote, was the only time he really stood out in the competition. Let's be clear, at that point without the injuries that slowed him down, Coote was a freak at catching the bombs. That kicking game would have been nowhere near as effective without Coote.

Yet Maloney had more forced dropouts. With if you believe some on here had a coach that banned short kicks. Moylan is a great foil which I why I like his as a fullback infact if he goes back to fullback they will finish infront of us
If they could only get one win more than us this year considering the circumstances they aren't finishing in front of us next year.

Not only Coote... we had alot of kick chase options in a solid backline but more importantly across the park.

Burns in the halves wasnt that skillful. But he never gave up on plays. Lewis, Smith, Cooper and Pritchard all pretty quick for second rowers with some experience in the backs. For their positions they eould easily be among the best at the time in chasing snd contesting kicks.

Honestly even our less skillful backs like Purtell and Tighe still had something to offer in a kick chase or contesting the ball. We had a great roster for scoring off kicks.

They won 2 more games....

1 in regular season. Where no other team won more games than they did.

1 in the finals... which was the game that ended our season.

They finished one win ahead with a settled team for the whole season and us having to change our halves pairing every couple of weeks with our fullback and hooker gone.

They're absolutely no chance of finishing above us.

They had a lot of injuries of their own. By no means settled.

I'd rather have a player with Maloney's attitude than Moylan's every day of the week.
This is bizarre. One sooked and got sacked for not putting in and gives away the most penalties and missed tackles in the comp...the other is Moylan

Let's not go putting Moylan on a pedestal now. He's a talented player but inconsistent, didn't give a f**k about training, and just wanted to get on the gear instead.
Ive heard similar but he always put in 100% on the field every game. Can not say the same for Jimmy

Well Maloney did play like a reserve grader for a year after complaining he wanted more money. I like both but they have a similar temperament.
