Four Broncos cleared of sex assault allegations

What happens if they are not charged..

I will still think they are absolute tools with no sense of commitment to the club. Only a tearful declaration of their intent to pay back what they took from the club and go on the straight and narrow could possibly sway me.

Well then there is still the fact that they went out and made a mess of themselves on the weekend of the finals,Locky.
Although if they were given the weekend off, what do you say to stop this kind of behaviour?
Don't drink too much? LOL Yes I'm sure that would go down well..

They were given the time off, now whilst I don't agree (I firmly believe on a drinking ban during the season) but it has happened. At this stage they are innocent of any wrong doing. I am sure they have all "gone down" so to speak anyway:lol:

It's not the position they've put themselves in but it's who they are that disappoints me. Thaiday is our forward leader and has already captained the side this year while Hunt was supposed to be the future leader of the club. Their positions should be on very shaky ground, at the very least they've put a black mark through any captaincy aspirations they had.

I'd say the majority of Broncos fans here don't want to see the team progress any further after witnessing this saga. For me the season ended with the Roosters game, and watching Brisbane play this weekend or further will provide me with no entertainment.

My main source of entertainment now is Razor with his dimwitted views, and foot in mouth statements.

Cheers to you Razor and your over-simplistic slant on crime, sex and hypocrisy. Bless your cotton socks, you are a credit to morons everywhere.

So you're saying that most of the 50 000 people that have bought tickets for this match want the Broncos to lose?

Yeah, that wouldn't surprise. Bennett is a master coach and capable of using any situation and bringing it to the best advantage he can for the team. Be wary Melbourne...

That's a fair point. A lot of the overpaid princesses (at all clubs) are just in it for themselves these days - no sense of commitment to the team, the club, or their fans. Care more about getting to that night's celebrations at the Sapphire Room or wherever else than behaving themselves discretely and in ways that respect the needs of their employer/club/area/code/role amongst younger fans.

Media whores flaunting their lifestyle and apparent sense of superiority in public and who then whinge about the fishbowl existence...

Very good analogy

I don't think there should be a no drinking policy during the season, but surely in the finals they can hold on.
They are professional athletes that have a responsibility to their fans and their team mates.

Why is the season over? Because this controversy has left me with such a disdain for the players involved that I won't enjoy watching them play. I would rather they were bundled out of the finals in the first week, and I would not have to watch them anymore.

I totally understand Frank. They've brought a lot of shame on the club.

You telling me it is unrealistic for people earning $300,000+ to not drink for 30 weeks of the year. You have low standards. I think that is more than fair to be honest. You cannot perform at your best whilst intoxicated anyway.

While Frank (and many others) may share one opinion on the '08 campaign I believe the majority are still looking forward to the clash on Saturday and the results of the clash.

Personally speaking I can't wait until the game. Of course I'm dissapointed about these horrible allegations made against our players but at the end of the day I among others prefer what takes place on the field rather than off of it.

Yes it is.
I'd love for it to be enforced but it is simply unrealistic to expect young adults to not drink.
It's just how it is.

I'm much the same.

At the very best, these guys were absolutely stupid to do what they did. Regardless of consent or "fun", you'd think that the headlines over the past 4(!) or so years would've triggered SOMETHING in their brains that would let them know this wasn't the best idea...

Regardless of that, no gloss off the game. A true legend of the club retiring and the man who BUILT the freaking club for the last time in front of us home fans at Suncorp. I'm not going to let the actions of three drunk morons stop me from showing my appreciation and support for the other 14 men (+ coach) out there.

Nobody should or could enforce a "no drink policy" on NRL players during a season..all the public expect is an element of moderation. Staggering pissed to the head of a queue in cab rank and then mocking and spitting at those still in the queue is just dumb and arrogant. In some countries you could be knifed or have a round put in you for that sort of behaviour.

I suppose we must remember 90% of these players are intellectually challenged as in being plain dumb or stupid or ignorant, or all of the above. They are getting paid a shat load to play a sport once a weekend and then train professionally in between games. However this does not excuse poor conduct or arrogance or the abuse of women.

I think Wayne Bennett saw this rot coming and is leaving at the most apprpriate time.

Absolutely. Sheesh, people are wailing about the player drain now - imagine what it would be like if the NRL offered lower wages than everyone else AND controlled the players' lives in a more strict way??!!

It's not booze, it's the body that the booze enters. I'm 24, drank in pubs and nightclubs regularly from the ages of about 18-22, and have never once been:

In a fight.
Thrown out of a pub/club.
Sick in public.
Accused of verbal, physical or sexual harrassment.
Arrested.
Passed out in the street.

Seriously, it's not that hard to do.

It's the concept of moderation that seems to fall of deaf ears in regards not just to football players but sports personnel in general.

Because the general public is relevant to this conversation...
Always a pleasure,Oscar.

yeah because you people just assume these young kids to some how gain 40 years of wisdom before they're 20 just because they can kick a football ...

if the clubs gave teams more things to do inbetween training and matches you wouldn't have mid week binge sessions ...

Where did I say the above?
Infact,I think I touched on what you were saying a few posts ago where I said it's completely unrealistic to expect young people not to drink...

Back into your can.
