Four from Eleven, Griffin is a dead man walking.

If any panther fan had bothered to look at the dragons and Cowboys forums at the time the panthers were buying Merrin and Tamou you would have seen that supporters from both clubs were happy to see them go. Both overrated, over paid useless lugs. And what's worse is that you paid a lot of money for them and you have them on your books for a few more years. Of course you should PANIC!!!

The 10m was no different yesterday to any other game, ref keeps 11 or 12 and the defensive line drifts a meter or 2. Shark's line speed was just that good, because they won nearly every ruck and have total confidence in the blokes defending beside them. After a Dallin hit up is pretty much the only time we would get any breathing room.

Domt worry guys...

IF Peachey passes the ball against Roosters. We win.

IF Leota and TMM hold the ball against Storm... and we defend their last 2 or 3 tries and then kick a field goal we win.

IF we dont kick a penalty goal against Souths to increase our lead to 6 apparently we win that too.

IF we stop Sharks scoring 3 of those tries and Blake doesnt go out trying to score, Yeo doesn't lose it over the line and Hiku doesnt lose it over the line. We win that too.

We are very unlucky not to be sitting on 6 wins right now. Clearly we are a great team who can score at will.

Absolute and utter twaddle, especially Merrin, who was the best middle forward in the game last year.

Trent Merrin was a beast last year. Tamou has always been overrated though

Both suck this year but the whole team sucks. RCG looks our best front rower on effort. Yeo looks our best second rower. Meanwhile there must be half a dozen guys earning more who do less.

Likewise for backs. Blake and DWZ put in more effort than Moylan. He earns more than them combined. Hiku and Whare are Kiwi internationals on more than Peachey, but Peachey tries harder than both.

The effort from our guys on big money is just not good enough. Moylan, Whare, Hiku, Tamou and Merrin are internationals on big money. They should be our top players each week.

Instead you see guys like Blake. Yeo. TMM. RCG. DWZ etc. Busting their ass but not being able to influence the scoreline because they dont get support from the big names.

Merrin was great last year, I'm not prepared to write him off quite yet.

I'd definitely be dropping Tamou though, send him a wake up call. You just can't keep selecting underperforming players, even if they are on big money.

The coaches team picks reflect the mentality of the whole squad. Each week he is making weird changes convincing himself he is doing some brilliant master strategy, a trick no one will suspect that will fool the other team and gain us a win.
The team believe they just have to turn up and start throwing the ball from side to side and their brilliance will do the rest of the job for them.
Each part of the team looks isolated.
The forwards are relying on the wingers to do the hard yards, the halves have no structured plays and we have a new bunch of reserves on the bench every week adding to the chaos.

Tricks and individual skill are what we are based on this season, unfortunately we have been well and truly exposed as pretenders.

Can't even live in hope that once we can't mathematically make the 8 that Griffin will mix thing up. TMM looks a future NRL quality half but our forwards are that shit that we need an extra 1 with Carty back at 6. Also need our best prop back.....Mansour

Young halves just don't work in this competition, we have a lot bigger issues than just young halves so I'm not sure any changes are going to work this year, it's just going to make us more disjointed. I don't know what's going to fix our issues tbh we look that bad.

Cleary bombing every set with no chasers is the worst gameplan ive ever seen. Griffin is legitimately a worse coach than Matt Elliott

It is my honest opinion that this side needs a real leader. Moylan is not a player who leads from the front. He has ability and flair but you want a captain that sets a benchmark, digs in and gets the boys doing the small percentage stuff.

From the outside we look disorganised, lacking in effort and have a poor attitude. Moylan is NOT the player to turn that around. Theres a difference between trying everything and trying too hard. Moylan just tries too hard and its usually only in attack.

As far as tangible improvements. Would like to see Merrin and Tamou rip in, its what we pay them for. RCG has been poor. Generally our forwards need to improve and we will then see time given to the outside backs and halves. Our forwards are absolute powderpuffs.

Cleary and TMM are young halves but their confidence is low. Id like to see us play basic footy, get repeat sets and hit hard in defence before we worry about sorting the attack, that will come good off the back of hard work and an improved work ethic from our forwards.

As for Hook. I'm prepared to see where we end up before calling for heads. Paul McGregor was coaching a footy style that "wasnt working", with a side that was out of sync and fans screamed for his head. His players pulled their fingers out and they started winning again.

Confidence and attitude will go a long way to improving this football side.

I take no issue with the effort of our forwards. They're all trying hard, they're just simply not that talented as a whole. We thought we got ambushed by the dragons, when no, that's just the gulf between the best pack and us.

It's sad to think for the money we've tied up in Tamou we could have had both Packer and Vaughn and change left over. They're only about twice as good as any of our props. But then it probably wouldn't matter because if we had them Griffin would play one of them off the bench for 25mins and the other would be in reggies.

The players didnt pull their fingers out, McGregor has openly said he was overcoaching the team and has let them play more freely and what they see not set to structures in attack, he has concentrated on defense and let the players worry about the attack (to a degree)

TMM is a prime example of overcoaching, the structures are set you can see it a mile off, when it breaks down he continues through with the play, rushing kicks, pushing passes, instead of playing whats in front of him.

The coaching is terrible, everyone saw it at the Broncos, Griffin had a good first year then a steady decline over the next 3 years, their play became boring and predictable, opposition were able to adjust to the attacking structure of 3 hit ups spread it wide, bring it back to the centre for another hit up then bomb, I think they call it the Matthew Elliott brand of coaching.

Team selections are pathetic, Hiku, Leota on the bench, Browne.. pfft, Everyone thought Tim Sheens had lost his marbles when he had Lawrence on the bench, we have Griffin doing the same with Hardaker and Hiku. The entire fan base can see it, the team list was put up and almost everyones shoulders dropped as if we were consigned to defeat before a ball was kicked, Kikau and either CHN or akauola need to be on the bench. Yesterday was the worst bench in the NRL, with the players that we have at our disposal thats a disgrace.

Hes no better than RCG. Tamou or Latu anyway.

Vaughn shits on them. Packer is average though. In our pack he would be the worst one.

Agree on Tamou, but your criticism on Merrin is biased and wide of the mark. He had a career best year last year.
I would have gone Vaughan over Tamou.
