It is my honest opinion that this side needs a real leader. Moylan is not a player who leads from the front. He has ability and flair but you want a captain that sets a benchmark, digs in and gets the boys doing the small percentage stuff.

Peter Wallace?

If we had a forward who deserves $750k a season. It would be Yeo before Tamou or Merrin. The guy is worth twice what they are.

Yeo. Young, consistent, plays with heart
Yeo is the only player in our side that deserves to be mentioned to play for NSW he should be captain, leads by example. Moylan, Merrin, Tamou and to a lesser extent Cartwright need to prove it than keep talking about being picked.

As a Sharks fan, I'd agree with that. Yeo is very consistent - always has a dig, doesn't shirk that hard yards off his own line (Tamou and Merrin in particular seem to go missing for the tough runs off your own line - usually they take their time to get back inside until those hard runs have been done by a winger) - Yeo seems to be good for a couple of line breaks a game too, very underrated.

On a side note - what has happened to Latu? Looked a world beater last year, but seems to be getting minimal minutes and nowhere near as involved when he is on this year. Is his nose out of joint at the Tamou signing?

I feel like it's a combination of both being down on form compared to what he displayed last year and the style of football we are playing.

None of us know the answer to what happened to latu, but it fits in with what we are all upset with, we don't know what is happening with anything.
We had a good formula last year that has been thrown out the window.
All season the coach has messed with the forwards minutes and rotations, dropped players playing well and persisting with those playing poorly.
Latu, like all the forwards look confused, the coach has obviously implemented some strategy that is over complicated and has everyone playing to their weaknesses.

Latu looked like a real pack leader last year, the sort you'd build your pack around, that would allow your halves and then players like Merrin and Cartwright (who IMO are more luxury type players) to thrive.
This year, I've hardly noticed him when you've played.

Mind you those 2 wins we had we kept the 2 teams tryless and put 34+ against them im not convinced parra will do anything this yr either we should have beaten souths if 3 players didmt get dropped but rules are there for a reason and no player is bigger then the club so i agree with griffin on that one

Lose this week and I'll be really worried. We are obviously way off the mark right now, Melbourne and Cronulla have made that clear. We know this side is young and incredibly talented, as long as we can stay in touch while they are getting it right, we know they can and typically do go streaking mid and recently late season.

We have 10 very winnable games and 3 tough ones (Cows/Broncs/Raiders) before our final month so there's plenty of opportunity to get things purring but we need to start banking points or it'll be over before Mansour can throw the boys onto his back once more.

We are truly up shit creek. Moylan is woefully out of form as is Wallace. So we have two young halves trying to execute a non existent game plan. There's No discipline, no patience and no aggression in this side.

The forward leaders need a rocket up them, that's for sure. But this is a very very sharp drop in standard of the opposition. Even though Parra will be confident after jagging a win after being ouplayed all day, I think we'll get them quite comforatbly and then we'll be back on track. Sort of. Broncos will be tough up there though.

I don't think Wallace could have done much more the other day.

He can stop throwing dog shit passes to the ground and giving away stupid f**king penalties, Seggy used to try hard as well but that isn't good enough, Wallace need to focus on giving good service because its been f**ked recently. Every week he gives away a nothing penalty that leads to a try. Twice Souths scored off the back of Wallace mistakes and the sharks did once. When we need someone to step up and provide a cool head and some leadership Wallace(and Moylan) both overplay their hands and try push the ball when we just need to relax and be patient. We've been called panicky with the ball this week and that is the perfect word for us. Its all on Griffin, Moylan and Wallace. I cant blame a 19 and 20yo for not running our attack the way it should be, we need a f**king experienced half out there not a couple of teens.
