Is there anyone who is prepared to mount a defence of Anthony Griffin?
We are not the Wests Tigers. That is my defence of Anthony Griffin. The Tigers sacked their coach because their stars were threatening to leave, and they left anyway. They could have saved hundreds of grand.

The Roosters lost their first 8 games last year and beat only Newcastle home, but Robinson is still there.

We're just going to have to take our medicine, if thats the way it is going to go. We are well enough used to it. Griffin will go when Gould decides he will go.

#hookhook. I'm usually pretty positive about all things penrith panthers, but I'm sick ofthe insipid, unispired performances of this team. It all comes back to a few things:

1. Terrible team selections. All of us can see that certain players shouldn't be in first grade. Leaving kikau, akuola and other impact players in reserve grade is costing us massively!

2. Wasting money on Tamou. We all knew he was going to be a huge flop, and he's proving it week after week..

3. Crap tactics. Running the ball on the last is obviously a coaching instruction. It's not working! Cleary and to a lesser extent Wallace have decent short kicking games. Give them the freedom to use it!

Rant over!

Wallace and then Hiku got us repeat sets late in the game with short kicks to the ingoal. This should have been happening earlier in the game.

This game was winnable, even from 18 down. But continual errors stuffed us. I think there were signs that things are going to improve, but the team needs to work on the basics.

The basics come from a well coached team. The basics include attacking and defensive structures as well as holding the ball.
The basics also consist of a coach teaching each player their role, and how to achieve it.
Nobody on that team knows what they are supposed to be doing.

Well apart from tamou who has obviously been told to chill out, fall over before you get to line and pimp it up with mad stacks of $$$ for your trouble.

Martin withdrew with injury so instead of putting moylan into 5/8 hiku on the wing and zelezniak fullback lets play cartwright at 5/8 whos rusty slow and hasnt played a game in 6 weeks as bruce mcaveney would say "clever".

As bad as we are you have to bemoan our luck, I mean how often would you see what happened when Gutherson dropped the ball in goal and kicked it end well for the Eels?

it was a bit silly given bryce was just returning from injury but i can see why given that carty and cleary in the halves got us deep into the finals last year

The problem with this useless side is we seem to think defence is the thing between us and the neighbour. f**king hopeless.

I'm simply not really excited about watching this team until Griffin farks off. I'll be watching but with no interest or enthusiasm until that former Bronco merkin is 'hooked'.

Taylor was always the wrong choice, that club needed a solid disciplinarian not a pushover. Although the problems ran much deeper than Taylor.

In regards to Robsinson he had a track record to fall back on combined with huge upheaval in his team. He lost Pearce for the first eight weeks and had lost Maloney, RTS. Think he also lost Cordner at some point. So probably their top four players.

I just watched the press conference. Suggest you all do the same. Tell me if I am dreaming but I can't help but read from Griffin's face, tone and body language that he has lost confidence in himself (so the lack of confidence will now be running from the coach down).
