I wouldn't be taking commentary and into consideration at all when looking at coaches. Matt Elliot is very insightful when he speaks about footy, he comes off as a great rugby league mind. Gould has said Griffin is another great rugby league mind and look how he is doing. We don't need a brilliant tactician, we need a brilliant man manager who can get the boys on the same page and ready to go each week and Walters has worked under two of the best man managers RL has seen.

Agree Kev is bad but you haven't watched many games covered by Ennis then I guess?

Yeah Ennis is bad too. Horribly biased (why the hell is he commentating Sharks games!?!?) and a really annoying voice but he does occasionally approach coherence. Occasionally.

I wouldn't want Ennis as our coach either though.

Jack Gibson was ordinary as commentator but one of the best coaches of all time.

I am not saying Kevin Walters is a good fit though. Largely an assistant coach and the Qld team he is in 'charge' of could look after themselves.

Sadly I don't see anyone who is experienced enough to take charge of this young team. He needs to be a mentor and demand discipline.

Happy for Griffin to stay for now only because there aren't any long term alternatives, but if the team don't respond in the next few weeks then he must be punted at the end of the season. End of...
