Not sure why they all can't commence pretty much all at the same time either , this one after the other notion is nonsense.

have them all commence in 2023 & be completed for the start of the 2026 season.

Because of the high number of infrastructure projects happening in Australia at the moment, there isn't enough workforce, or material supply, to undertake the current state and federal projects, let alone add these 4 projects to it.

This is the only sensible way to allow this to happen

Wonder if the 4 suburban grounds include Penrith or not? Hopefully they make the right choices and set at least most of the Sydney clubs up well for the next few decades. Maybe Vlandys can then find the time to go have a word with the ACT Govt!

Trust the nrl360 nuffies to treat anything that looks unfavorable for easts as a nothing story... they must be getting some well earned coin to keep talking up the rorters whenever possible
Dude you have fallen hook, line and sinker for this article.

Wow all safe Liberal seats getting all the stadium upgrades. talk about corruption at its best. Gladbags resigned under icac investigations for rorts to Wagga Wagga. explain taxpayer money going to BROOKVALE privately owned club by millionaires. Shark park privately owned land gifted taxpayer money. Icac come an investigate the sports rort off the liberal party. ESPECIALLY the Sports Minister.

Brookvale isn’t privately owned

Lo is getting around 60 mill.

that still leaves 240 million. I can’t see shark park getting more than 50 m

I think the rest is going to Campbelltown. Especially after the tigers said they are moving 9 games there next year. They really shouldn’t spend any on lo and redo Campbelltown fully

bulldogs are the big losers in all of this

Given there's the A-League team at Campbelltown it makes sense I guess as it'll be a multi-tenant stadium.

It's a shame that an agreement for something for the Dogs and Tigers to share at Liverpool couldn't be worked out. A boutique 20k venue there, allowing for finals matches to be moved to the larger venue at Parra would have been a winner.

That's one of the burning questions out of this plan - what does it mean for the Bulldogs?

With Souths dead keen on an SFS return, they could end up stuck as the only club in a gargantuan home ground that's lousy for low-mid attendance club games and not well configured for footy.

What would that achieve?

Until the next stage of the light rail is finish the ACT government is broke, so they couldn't afford a new stadium even if they wanted to. So he'd have to talk to the Federal government if he wants real investment into a new stadium, but there's no political advantage for either party to invest in a new stadium in Canberra, so odds are that they won't be interested.

Besides, if any serious money is being invested in stadia in the ACT then it should go to a arena. The stadium is still functional, the AIS arena is closed until fire safety issues have been addressed. It probably wouldn't hurt that the NBL under Kestelman has a history of putting it's money where it's mouth is as well.

Gotta think the Bulldogs are in some strife here - if Souths go to the SFS, then the Bulldogs will be the only heavy-use tenant left at the club footy-unfriendly Olympic stadium.
They'll be in a even worse position once the Bankstown Line gets converted to Metro which would end direct train access to Lidcombe/Olympic Park for most of their fans. Allianz might be the best option for them until Belmore gets upgraded

It does feel like a missed opportunity for tigers, Dogs and the NRL. If NRL could have convinced Govt to gift some land for a shared 30k stadium that Govt paid for but they bought back like AFL did with Marvel it would finally have given the ARLC a decent asset base, extra revenue and sorted Dogs and Tigers out in a decent stadium. Had to laugh at Vlandys comment that their priority is for fans "to be able to walk to the game". WTF, is it the 1970's Pete? lol

Its only about another 8km to Commbank than Accor. Or Christchurch has a lovely new stadium about to open :)

Yes there's houses over near the SE corner but have a look at the rest of the hill, there is plenty of room to build a stand that tapers down in that corner.
If they are going to demolish the hill they may as well give up lo full time
The Team is privately own by multi millionaires. Liberal party making the rich richer.
How many nrl clubs aren’t owned by a rich backer or a rich leagues club ?

redo both belmore and Campbelltown is a much better solution

What I find interesting about Belmore is that it's in as good if not better nick than grounds like Kogarah and Campbelltown but it's only used once a season for heritage purposes.

How much would it take to bring it up to scratch as a 20,000 seater that the Dogs went back to full time? It's got a railway station all of fifty metres away so the access is fine.

Looking at this pic a lot of money and probably cheaper to build a new one tbh,
It looks hemmed in at both ends so no decent sized stands there, obviously needs a new corporate main stand and then the existing big stand looks like it needs a lot of work and maybe the pitch moving to bring it much closer.

Well, the Bulldogs could well have a case to say "Hey - if Leichardt can get some money, what about OUR traditional home??", if they want to get their own slice of the boutique suburban stadium cash.

The station is actually campsie which isn’t that close

it’s nowhere near kogarah or Campbelltown either.

it would probably need 200 million to be decent minimum
