interesting because the Womens football world cup will be using Accor for the final but no games at MCG or Optus because they are proper ovals.

This is why AFL is so against a Football world cup being played in Australia. The only way Melbourne or Perth would get any big games was if they had massive upgrades to their rectangular stadiums.

As it should be. Ovals make for horrible viewing.

Cricket being our national sport has forced the hand but 3 Stadiums over 45k that are rectangle should be the top 3 grounds used

The game is mainly played in that area now and is struggling elsewhere. More and more Penrith are going to be producing all the talent.

not even remotely the same thing as a junior feeder team ... its a place to park the guys in their top 30 not playing NRL any weekend in the next level of the game & have a licensed club capable of footing the bill to run the team ( blacktown workers ) foot the bill. In return workers get their brand exposed & promoted. Its a commercial arrangement.
And anyway, we don't have a draft in the NRL so kids can trial for any club & be signed from anywhere including the panthers area.

Yep this,... im not sure "newtown" is in the sutherland shire, or north sydney is in the eastern suburbs..., there are lots of examples of reserve grade clubs promoting their juniors into a NRL club that isn't nearby...

They got $8mill years ago (2017)but don’t have the cash they need to put in their contribution and build it. I’m surprised Dept of treasury Havent asked for it back ny now.
