12k capacity for a finals game is a disgrace

vlandys is wrong on this issue he’s caved in to rothfield and the sharks

it’s going to be embarrassing watching that game as a reflection of finals football in the nrl
Ironically the atmosphere of 12k at Shark Park will leave for dead the atmosphere of 20-25k at the shiny new toy and be a much better spectacle on tv. Prelim against a another Sydney team will be a different story. Will pack the joint out either way....even a week 2 semi.

Hasn’t caved to the sharks. I honestly think this is just PVL making yet another “woe as me” public sentiment about the funding they were meant to receive for the suburban stadiums.

Sure you can claim the “integrity of the finals series” argument path if you want. But we don’t have a full fair draw anyway. So it’s somewhat a moot point.

IMO it’s a political move by PVL
Don't forget the alliance which has formed.
Remember that PVL and Abdo were in a legal stoush with the NSWRL earlier this year, reason being: Dino was blocked from that board, Peponis and Politis resign because of the decision.
A little mafiosi group that Dino is part of, along with Dr. George, Uncle Nick and PVL.

apart from the Sharks, Manly & Penrith all Sydney based teams will play their Finals matches at either CB,HB, or SFS. And imo unless those three teams are versing another Sydney club I can’t see why they can’t play week 1 of the finals at their home grounds. Sharks v Storm/Cowboys won’t sell out any of them bigger venues, in fact probably wont half fill the SFS. Let the teams get a week 1 sell out home ground advantage. The team and their supporters deserve the best chance they can get at winning the match.
I don't think that is correct.

Dragons would surely play week 1 at Kogarah or Wollongong and Wollongong is eligible for week 2 games as well.

I don't see why tigers wouldn't play week 1 at Campbelltown or Leichardt.

There's still a scenario where the Roosters and Rabbitohs finish 5th and 6th respectively.

If that were to happen, how good would a Saturday night elimination double-header be at Allianz Stadium?!
That wouldn't be necessary IMO.

In that scenario Parra finish 7th which is more than enough to fill the joint on the 6v7 fixture alone.

After last night's result, that is an impossibility anyways.

On the sharks playing week 1 at shark park, I have no problem with it even with a reduced capacity because those are the rules the NRL are enforcing. If Penrith can play at their suburban home ground then so should the sharks.

Having said that, i don't agree with the rule and believe neither should be able to play any finals games at those venues, same as Manly, wests etc.

That is it. How can anyone argue that 25k of empty seats is better than a full crowd.

Souths and Parra will host games, So plenty of space for neutrals to attend a game next week

At least Penrith can hold 20k.
Of course you want all the finals at big stadiums especially all finals involving the Roosters to be at Allianz even if they don’t merit a home final! Typical Roosters attitude!

Tigers are already playing games at CB, why not take a final there?

I did assume the dragons would want to play finals games at the brand new SFS. I could be wrong.

Paceway has been going for years, the club is small and useless.

They are arguing for building costs at the other end, They aren't entitled to that. It will get sorted

I'll bet (metaphorically) any money the Paceway gets if it isn't forced to wind up for having no reason to exist will go to buying pokie licences.

Clubs NSW has some of the greatest marketing I've ever seen in convincing people they operate community facilities rather than casinos with a bistro.
