As the Feds are prepared to put $240m into the new stadium plus the Tassie govt input ,I am deeply concerned how Bandana features will react.
Will it be" money is needed for hospitals and schools"?
Or will he and I'll bet both my marbles , ignore said issue and concentrate on any possible Govt money that benefits the NRL ?
IMO his delaying tactics in NSW in some small way ensured Homebush would not be redeveloped.

Yep. He’ll go for a cricket/fumblers combo which puts rectangle codes second.
hes bleated that theres not enough money for any stadium , an all purpose venue would blow costs out to about the same as Hobarts ... maybe more ... we'd need 30K seats while they're only getting 20K , so he'd look like quite the fool demanding more be spent...
plus
for that extra out lay we'd get just 3 games of derps & misses & some big bash , no test cricket tho, you can't play tests in a roofed venue apparently
so the ROI isn't there

meanwhile the RL, RU & Soccer played in a rectangle venue would play over 30 times at the venue each year

it'll be a rectangle
end of

The feds have put money into stadiums before.

They contributed $100m to QCB in NQ.

The original breakdown for the build was-

State gov -$140m
Feds - $100m
Cowboys- $10m
Tvl council- donated the land for it and the NQ CoE built next door.

But cost blew out by about $45m and the state gov I believe picked up the tab.

Totes worth it though.
How did they build it so cheaply

allianz was over 800 million and commbank 350 million and it’s on par with both

Not sure, the structure of the roof in NQ would have to be cyclone proof so that would have added to the cost, i'd say only having 1 tier at the northern would have saved $50mil so there's the cost difference between it and Commbank.

I've posted this before, this is the breakdown of the QCB design

Comparing it to Allianz, having not been to it
in it's new form, it looks to have a lot of bells and whistles which adds to the cost.

The iconic design of north qld will have added to the cost for sure

such a beautiful stadium when they are on tv it just stands out

such an improvement on the titans stadium for example which is just a flat pack boring design

Since super league no we haven’t

you can’t expect vlandys to undo 20 years of underperformance quickly either

He hasn't put a lobby team together like the AFL have had for 30+ years ffs. It isn't that freakin hard and should have been done in the first month of taking over as GM. There are some things that should not be negotiable and getting the big end of town and Government officials to love us as a code and be proactively helping us and supporting au at every opportunity is one of them.

End Of.

Do afl trolls have to infest every f**king thread?

Mate I despise the AFL, but I'm not an ignorant moron that can't see the right way to run a business compared to the wrong way.

We fail on so many fundamental levels to run our sport correctly, then wonder why we always end up at the wrong end of the pineapple.

Be an adult when debating issues. We are grown ups ffs. The truth may hurt, but that is life. Denial benefits no one. We all love RL, I want us to be better then that sh*t stain of a supposed sport. Addressing our short cummings is the only way we can build pressure to maybe have them addressed and finally fixed.

Living in lala land helps no one but our enemies.

Agreed.

I am not a V'Landys hater. He has done some things exceptionally well, but others not so much and some thing not addressed at all.

For mine so far he gets a 50-50 score card. Hopefully in his tenure as GM he can bump that up somewhat. I know I'm rooting for him big time as we should all be.

He will get to 18 nrl teams at a minimum if not 20 that’s the most important thing
