Perth Red - have you ever been to Penrith? Do you know anything about the area, infrastructure, transport situation, or demographics? Come to a Saturday night game in Penrith and see how the local community supports the Panthers, especially the number of young families and teenagers who would be unable to travel to Commbank at night. Getting home after midnight from a game of football every second week is hardly fair on them. It is not really a Sydney suburb, but a city and region in its own right!
Penrith is a growth area and is the largest RL nursery in the world. It surely deserves Government spending on a new stadium.
Mate a smart ass turd living in Perth knows more than you do about Penrith. We all just have to face this fact :)

Hahhaa Penrith can use stadiums an hour away but the stadium in Bruce being 15 minutes from the cbd is a killer
For the 100th time, the problem with Bruce isn't travel time (unless you're taking public transport). Nor would travel time from Penrith to Parra be an issue for reasonable people. Most of Canberra's population doesn't live in the CBD either, and may be traveling about half an hour to the stadium anyway depending on where they're coming from.

Bruce's problems are that it's got basically no public transport options, which make it difficult for significant amounts of people to get to, and that there's nothing else around the stadium which is bad for the economy and renters using the stadium, deters tourism, and murders matchday experience.

Sports fans in Canberra would give their left nut for a state of the art alternate to Bruce that's 30 minutes away in a good location. Unfortunately that doesn't exist in Canberra. It does however exist in Sydney which brings us back to the point; it's very difficult to justify building another stadium in Penrith when those other options exist within a convenient distance, which is why you're not even attempting to justify it and you're instead presenting an irrelevant whataboutism about Canberra instead.

New Penrith stadium won’t have much around it either buddy but maybe you’ve never been out that way

anyone who thinks Penrith should play home games at parramatta has rocks in their head
Especially if they are complaining about their own stadium and lesser travel distances

Hey if NSW tax payers are happy to stump up $300mill for panthers to have a stadium for 11/12 games a year then thats great for them. The fact there is a State owned state of the art new stadium 30km away is all we were pointing out. Im all for it, its not my money and the more NRl clubs playing in new stadiums the better as far as Im concerned.

Again scheduling is the issue not stadium availability. Games shouldn't be finishing at 10.30pm!
QCB stadium... =12 games a year, no difference lol

This rah-rah we're for Penrith BS is just that...

There's no way that the NSW gov can justify investing $100s of millions into another stadium either fiscally or from a city planning point of view, especially for a venue used by a single tenant, and that's all that should really matters in the grand scheme of things.

The nsw state govt values rugby league more than the act

not that it’s saying much

Firstly, Penrith Stadium has plenty of restaurants and the such around it.

Secondly, anybody that thinks it makes any political or financial sense for the taxpayer to spend hundreds of millions on a fourth major rectangular stadium within a roughly one hour radius is the one with rocks in their head. You're literally off your head at that point, especially when realistically the stadium will only have one regular tenant and won't attract many, if any, other major events.

Finally, for 101st time, the complaint about Bruce isn't travel distance or time and never has been.

I know Penrith isn’t exactly Vaucluse but I wouldn’t count Maccas as a restaurant

as I said Penrith is the only place a Penrith team can play and lucky for them the stage govt values that

What do people in Penrith do when they want to watch to fight cricket, soccer, afl , netball or union?

Townsville didn't have three other suitable venues within a one hour radius like Penrith does... Even then I wasn't comfortable with the pork barrelling that was necessary to get QCB up, that sort of base level political corruption is always bad for society.

Even if I accept your argument on face value, which I don't for the record, the fact that somewhere else made a bad investment doesn't justify the NSW Gov making one also.

There're dozens of restaurants and venues within walking distance of Penrith stadium, but even if it was just a Maccas that'd be one more place than is within walking distance of Bruce. . .

Only myopic morons believe that a team has to play their home games in the suburb they're based in.

Ok then Canberra can play at the gong for their home games lmao

Throughout this whole debate you've totally failed to directly address the argument even once. . .

because nobody i their right mind would expect Penrith to play home games at parra homebush or allianz

it makes zero sense

you want families to attend games and then want those game played In woop woop

personally, I would of put the Stadium near the airport. Aside from that Penrith is the best place for the outer West Sydney stadium planned
