300 million it’ll be a total rebuildI'd say East stand will be knocked down and rebuilt, the western side was extended 10-12 years ago but it honestly needs demolishing as well, the majority of it is still the bones of that old balls stand.
yeah agreed.300 million it’ll be a total rebuild
Won’t be as fancy with the roof and openings but it will be a big win for themyeah agreed.
A QCB styled stadium, but the single end level swapped to being on the southern end would be mint for Penrith.
Never in doubt
Obviously this is a rebuild of their current ground
We do need to get better at lobbying as a sport. I wonder if FIFA has a minimum capacity requirement for the Olympic Football final. This could help push a capacity increase. I think Suncorp should have been 60k from the beginning TBHIt’d be good to get Suncorp to 60k bit hard to see govt stumping up the significant $’s it would take when there’s not really a need for the Olympics
wed be better lobbying for a Redcliffe or Ipswich 30k stadium for future nrl club use.
it’s been nearly 4 years since qlnd put the bid together, why’s it taken arlc this long to ask for something?
Never in doubt

Allam homes will do mates ratesParramatta and Townsville both cost more. That was when everything was cheaper.
No way it gets a total rebuild for $300m
Yeh, they don't build infrastructure.Allam homes will do mates rates
Permit isn’t ambitious if it’s simply replacing the current one with a similar footprint. Design probably isn’t either if someone like Populous is doing it and it’s a fairly standard design, flat roof, single tier all the way around etc.Is this anywhere officially? And has anyone got the link to the Rothfield article? I'm doubtful of the veracity.
Buzz just doesn't break news stories anymore (Luke Brooks to the Cowboys, for example).
A stadium getting a permit, being designed and starting construction in less then 18 months, is also ambitious.

Probably the biggest stadium architect in the planet, they designed Accor, Cbus, Marvel, and dozens of others around the worldWhose populous
I can't imagine that's a huge impediment though- local council is just a lower tier of state government after all.
Problem with that design is corporates get wet if it rains and the boxes are low down and dont afford the best view. Might be fine in the desert where it doesnt rain and for a sport that isnt able to flog boxes at $20k a time, but for NRL less so.PayPal stadium in San Jose have a brilliant corporate area idea - they are around the field under the seating areas. This allows virtually all the seating to be for spectators. It is 3 sided with the largest outdoor bar area in the USA at one end. It cost $100m US to build in 2014.
Local council isn't part of Government. It is a direct representative that we initially chose for us to Government. People that call council Government have no bleeding clue. Imagine if Governments could literally just raise a motion and then rubber stamp it with a show of hands on the spot? We would be living in tyranny within the week ffs!
Councils should never ever be changed to be part of Government and it is bad enough that they have merged smaller ones into mega councils so as to yield more power and we have even less knowledge of what they do and even less representation. There was even a suggestion at one stage to just do away with State Governments and just have Councils take over all their duties and work with the Feds directly. Wow wouldn't that turn out well for us and lead to a fairer and more equitable system of governance? NOT!!!
